I've gone ahead with Pangaea.
The only balancing I've done with the starts is to amend the food resources to be balanced. Coastal starts get a fish plus two deer (plains hill forest, and plains forest). All land starts get plains hill sheep, plains cow and a wet wheat. It's not perfectly balanced, but I don't see the point in trying for that, we'll just end up accidentally favouring one player over another.
I have not added any early strategic resources to the start, but what spawned there, has stayed. Same for happy res. I have not changed, added or subtracted any happy res. I have checked the strategic resources, but because of the map constraints, it's not really possible to make sure everyone has Uranium or Aluminium without craming them within 5 tiles of the capital (or closer!) Some of these resources you may think are a bit closer to an opponent, but everyone does have access to all strategic resources. Ivory is not balanced.
Depending on who starts where, and who has a warrior start, it is possible that someone is Mortius'd. This is not avaoidable, it is inherent with the map script, number of players and demand to limited tile number.
I have not added any tiles to the game outside the capital 21 tiles. Within those tiles, I have added some land tiles to coastal starts, to bulk out some of the starts (some players had 5 land tiles). This has connected one player two 2 one tile islands. It does not affect that players ability to settle an island for 2 commerce trade routes: there are other islands within 5 tiles of that start location.
If a player or two could check the map, that'd be great. What I will also need, is for one person to send me a list of the players in this game, in a random order. I will also require a different person to send me a list of 8 random numbers (0-99) without duplicates. Once I have them, I will allocate the players to each start.
