Based on the discussions in the AI Survivor thread I wonder if it might be interesting to do an Adventure with K-mod--just do a simple setup (random map that isn't awful, relatively easy settings) and see how many takers that gets.

The Civ 4 Epics petered out because, quite frankly, nobody could be bothered to finish their games. Everyone would get bored and quit once they got ahead. The heyday of the Epics came by the dedicated players investing 40 hours per game, which is just a complete nonstarter after Civs 5 and 6 set the bar to more like 10 hours. I got tired of making small maps and goals that had to fit into like 150 turns because that's as far as anyone would bother playing. Report day would have like one winner by default and a whole bunch of excuses. One of which was that playing against AIs was dull and pointless after any sort of multiplayer. If people even waited for report day, which started to not happen, players decided to revoke the original spoiler policy in order to post immediately, which took all the wind out of the comparative results.
If you want to try some such event, I think your best bet is to just post your own thread for it, like CFC GOTMs, so whoever's interested can do whatever they want with it.

Let me restate, to hopefully be more clear. If you wanna try and kick off an Adventure or Epic or anything else really, that's great! I'd be glad to see you or anyone start any new activity off. Just let me know how I can help from a support perspective, i.e.: creating forums, pinning posts, finding a way to get the word out, anything administrative or technical related. More tech support and strategist, less hype man or emcee. Does that make sense?

I don't know if this is a limitation of the forum software or a limitation of the storage available on the hosting provider - if it's the former it might be fixable, if the latter then I guess we just live with TANSTAAFL.
I can look into the attachment limit, I know it is not a limitation of storage on the hosting provider.
Followup on this; as a few people have started regularly using attachments for reporting images, I am seeing total size of attachments we host going up steadily (about 3.4GB right now). It currently is not a problem with our hosting plan, but if we ever had a need to switch hosting providers or forum software, or even store a lot of backups, it definitely could pose a problem. Something I'll be mulling over.
It's hard to find an easy way to keep everything how we want to keep it indefinitely.

I was afraid of this. I guess a more realistic solution would be for someone to write up a quick-start guide for using Imgur/dropbox/etc, sticky that thread someplace it's easy to pass to new members as a reference, and keep it updated whenever the image hosters decide to change their approach. That sounds like too much work for me, though.
An unrelated idea I thought of, that I don't know if is even possible: some sort of poll mechanism that could be stuck in Pitboss tech threads to check for concession, instead of relying on lurker judgment? Ideally you could define a list of voters, let people change their vote constantly, but not reveal results until/unless there was unanimity?
Speaking of poll mechanisms - I can think of some that would be appreciated for werewolf games too, although there's the minor problem that the werewolf games died out...

That would likely require PHP code changes to make happen, which is a heavy blocker to me.
I'd be more inclined to look at migrating the forum to a Discourse instance so I could code that functionality in Ruby, before trying to code that here in PHP.
