Commodore in PBEM 64 basically ran away with that game because, although he was in the center of an X-shaped map, he got to push neighbors on every spoke. Probably simpler to just remove middle positions than risk strengthening them.

Holy crap, that was a position I won *despite*, not because.  shakehead

i mean, a slight breeze would have rolled over that team. I probably could have kept on tech a bit better had i had.... idk... a route to someone else other than thru someone that just ate a civ for free. banghead

Shouldnt complain about a map my now teammate GKC made though right? alright

even better. Guangzhou settler goes to Sheep/fish, and a settler that the capital completed the turn before will hop on the galley as it makes its way to the island.

Economy is basically crashed for now. Limping to currency, 2nd in cities... would be tied for 1st in cities if it wasnt for Serdoa's weird reasoning.

Lewwyn wins this i think, with a weird outside chance of Noble/gaspar winning. I say this because unless Lewwyn does something rather... disruptive to me, i plan on limping to currency with a 10% chance of just building a stack of axes/2 spears to carve NoGas's land up. Depends on RL stuff.

Lewwyn got to claim i assume, his/bob's silvers. At least 1 gold from his border with Rusten, and is likely whipping in a library to take MY GOLD as well. He had the hammers/forests to get Stonehenge, Oracle, and an easy lead in cities for most of the game.

So, Serdoa failed the expansion phase, and proceeded directly into the "fuck shit up" phase. Picking Russia was a really smoke smoke smoke smoke  move, and i believe he will be the first one eliminated ( with maybe Bob beating him )

On that same screenshot, you can see that Rusten got what appears to be alot more green land than everyone else. And, i know ive bitched earlier, but man... i dont want to play another lakes map. These lakes completely change the appropriate vs HOLYSHIT WHY DID YOU SETTLE THERE city locations all around. I honestly feel that i got the short end of the stick with the lakes/lack of hills in areas towards my neighbors.

Oh hey! From what i can see they had a worse starting area than i, if you dont count the monster city NE of the capital.... or the fact that he was closer to BOTH silver than i was to either silver, with an easy hill city vs my flatland choices.... ( looking at the map again, i guess i could have settled 1N of "my" silver, but thats alot of dead space between it and my capital. )

Please forgive me for my poor attitude, maybe im just looking at this map thru the eyes of someone who knows he cant micro his way out of a hole fast enough to not let another vet eat a city for free... AGAIN.
