Thrawn, I need you to play my turn, there is a serious bug in CIV in my new PC and it says that the cities are producing nothing, starving and no techs or civics are being researched. Are you OK to do that?

I think we do CS all wrong in these games.
I said before we should play on Deity for a start but all these games just become a race to the easy conquest of the CS.
anyway thats the set up and we are going to take advantage and slingshot.
The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.

Is that barb galley going to lead more barb boats to your capital rather than to me?

I could really do with a galley. I'm worried someone will try a 2 galley rush to raze a city and then retreat and there is nothing I can do about it.

I'm not sure if that's a one tile island or not, but right now I'm not seeing anything that dissuades me from the cow city next. That Campus plus all these turtles should keep my tech going great. Likely chop into a monument?

So Adab goes Harbour>Plaza? And Harbours as first district in all cities? So buying a tile for the harbour in the cow city then...

Thrawn, I'm going to struggle to get this issue sorted until the end of tomorrow. I don't see a way around this short of getting a more modern copy of windows and another storage drive. The problem is that the bugs are in the mods: when I've removed the mods, the game plays fine (can enter the science and culture trees, the yield icons show, the cities show production and builds etc. All that was missing in the PBEM save when opened with the mods). Therefore I will be forced to play using windows so dual boot is required but the new PC has no disk drive so I can't reinstall windows 7 on it (and frankly I don't want to given the risks now).
I don't want to re-use the current windows drive as I specifically want to keep that functioning in my old PC as back up and keep the rest of that PC working as network storage. Once I've set this back up I can keep on using this old PC to play turns for the next week whilst I sort out the bugs. This is not a long term solution as CIV crashed 2 times out of three when loading the PBEM save, which I think was due to memory allocation issues with integrated graphics, but it will do.
I'll make a decision tomorrow and get everything set up, but would you be OK covering for me until tomorrow afternoon?

Well I caved and installed Windows 11. Thankfully it took the Windows 7 code and activated, so I should be good to play the next turn tomorrow.
