Just hurts my soul seeing someone building Maoi without stone. I don't hold marble on the same level as stone. Marble is nice to have and on a non random map should be balanced (either as competitive or just given), but stone feels like something everyone should have.

If I was the other players I would be pissed that Nauf got a free turn on Ginger there. I was busy last night or I may have paused the game while discussions took place. If a player is absent you replace them (see Sac PB65). You don't let people attack them for free.

Edit: I'm not saying Nauf is in the wrong here (although not sure he handled correctly). If I was Nauf I would be equally pissed that my attacks keep getting revealed by an afk player.

I'm also curious how Bing plans to keep his overseas territory. He might get away with it as Nauf and Magic will probalby then collide, but per his T120 update the cities he wants from Ginger don't seem super keepable LONG term. Maybe he plans on expanding that way more later.

I had to move some units in view of his culture in order to cover my spear/horse archer by his horse, and so I chose to show about half of my full stack.  I'm hoping he thinks this is all that I have?  A faint hope.  But I might move in next turn if I don't see anything again.

Nothing quite like a half hearted invasion to ensure a quick and decisive victory.

Commodore seems to be thinking defense rather than offense and I don't see any cats in his army so if Pindicator is hoping for a distraction on that front then he's going to be in for a bad time of things if he does decide to try for a short victorious war.

Pindicator/Commodore/Gavagi are in a no-win triangle. Nobody is ever gonna win a 1v1 there. The only way is to 2v1. And nobody seems to trust anyone enough to coordinate one, so they're just going to continue staring at each other and throwing in the odd ill-advised invasion force while the rest of the game proceeds.

It's just a miserable game.  No one's doing anything, and everybody's poor.

Why do people keep joining and playing these pure random games? Your chances of getting locked into a miserable game for 6-12 months are just so high.

I mean that is most games of multiplayer civ4 lol.

Nauf probably doesn't see himself as a main contender / player anymore. That is probably teh real difference between his struggle here vs struggles in PB64.

I think people join the games intending to be a fun, no-strongs-attached casual thing. Then that turns out to be very difficult because of the timeframe involved. But maybe I'm just projecting.
