C&D news - LP got 16 points for Stonehenge, and Locke researched a tech. It's been 10 turns since his last turn, and there were no soldier points given, so I am moderately confident that it was Agriculture

I am somewhat surprised that we haven't had global soldier count go up by over 6K one of these turns (meaning an axeman produced), now that he (and a few other folks) have had Bronze Working for a few turns. I guess none of the folks that have BW also have the Wheel, and warlord doesn't have a 2nd city yet. And for all I know there is no copper, or at least no CONVENIENT copper...
The other thing I am worrying about is that we have BW "saved" with 114/207 (~7 turns) left.
So far we haven't had any beaker decay but I don't know if we can absorb another 8-10 turns to research Masonry w/o any decay. But we pretty much have to, if we're beelining GLH. Hopefully decay doesn't hit us too badly - if anyone wants to point me to the mechanics for that, I'd appreciate it regoarrarr Wrote:The other thing I am worrying about is that we have BW "saved" with 114/207 (~7 turns) left. What, was 3 minutes not enough time for anyone to jump in? In any case, see here or here - there is no beaker decay. I also WB'd a test and I went at least 35 turns with no decay visible, so that's enough for our purposes in this game. So that's good!
I'm surprised you think even now there is beaker decay...
Quote:A rather obvious play for a Chm / Ind leader (which doesn't make it a BAD play, of course) What would make it a bad play, in your opinion? Krill Wrote:I'm surprised you think even now there is beaker decay... Would you believe me if I told you it was all a ploy to up my post count? No? Okay then.... Quote:What would make it a bad play, in your opinion? Nothing - I wasn't suggesting it was a bad play. Just saying it was obvious. In fact, the very first thing I said about LP was that he could go for Stonehenge. I was just trying to make a point that just because something is often used doesn't mean it's bad. I mean, there's a reason that the "tried and true" strategies are tried and true - they're usually pretty darn good!!! darrelljs Wrote:It'd be a bad play if he was CRE/*.
