Some big pieces of news this turn. First, TBS took my money. That means MoM is ETA T110; I thought about sending two more workers up to make it T109, but I dared not risk it, even with him in double-war. I'd say I was being overly cautious, except then I did this:
I get the feeling this is getting razed by Oxy sooner than later... Forks two of his cities, threatens his clam, is undefended... perhaps my one saving grace may be that he just doesn't see it as a threat, because it pretty much isn't even close to actually being one. Its not like I can sneak boats over there, my next nearest port is like a dozen tiles away and we don't even have open borders.
And check this shit out... keeping in mind that he hasn't even been WHIPPING at all according to the scoreboard. MAMA, HOLD ME TIGHTLY NOW...
He's also apparently at war with HAK. Good luck, HAK! But, you are probably going to die.
Also note that I can SEE THE SCOREBOARD !!!!!!!!!! Played around with the settings file a bit, and finally found a configuration that works. That means I can finally see TBS's research, except it seems he just finished some tech last turn, probably b/c of my cash gift, FML. Well, hope he appreciates/remembers it at least.
Finally, you liked Ottowa porn, then you'll LOVE the book of the movie, yes, that's right, have some: Zoo Porn. *is immediately hauled away by the FBI*
CS eta ~8 turns, just in time to be out of revolt for 1AD.

You mean the one 1E? Yeah, that would have been safer spot for sure for getting the clam, shares the wheat to get that first border pop a bit faster, but wouldn't get me iron for quite a while, 15-20 turns maybe, and I wanted it pretty soon for swords and then maces... also gives up on that one forest tile on my continent, whereas I think it should be possible to force it out here with a first-ring border pop. (had a similar situation in clambake ~15 turns ago). The hill spot also takes the room of two fillers, whereas I can still squeeze out two with this spot.
I guess... I guess, thinking about it a bit more now, I don't really need the iron so immediately. Probably can't get anything done with just swords, even in the NE islands, and I had been thinking about delaying machinery after CS for a few other techs anyways (e.g. construction, compass, maybe HBR). So, you're probably right, it was probably a greedy mistake and one that I'll really only understand once my ass gets burnt on it. You don't really get any tactical experience with boat shit in single player games... maybe I'll try pinging scooter, again, in a few weeks, would love more advice from the more experienced MP guy now that the game is getting so tense.

I don't see any value in the other filler city.

If the food is somewhere else, that other place can be whipped just as well.

That's true, but happiness resources in general are fairly scares on this map. I haven't yet met a single person with duplicates of anything.

Ahhhh.... I'm so happy... so why...
so why... why am I... crying...?
Welp, went to dazedroyalty. Dude is Fin/Phi... doesn't even have marble... muscled through all 450 of those hammers the hard way, yowza! He had Calendar even earlier than I did, circa T90 maybe? Just didn't expect him to make the attempt! He'll get a lot out of it, being Phi, although he's fairly behind on city count. Very glad it didn't go to any of the other score leaders, e.g. BGN (who is apparently going HAM on Caledorn, according to the scorechart), dtay, Finharry, etc.
Well, what this means to me is that, with 300 failgold, I'll get Bureau EOT T111, (revolt T112 probably). Zoo will be bringing in ~60 commerce per turn at that point, times 30*0.6*1.75 + 30*0.4*1.25 for a roughly 60% breakeven rate, minutes 8gpt for Bureau's upkeep = +40 GNP per turn. So, since my breakeven tech rate is 160bpt, I guess that means the revolt will pay itself back in about 4 turns, not counting the food and hammers lost? Seems worth it even in the near term. I also get 3/4 of a forge in Moonshine (now never to be Moomshine, rip ) and Construction+Alpha for free I guess.
Uh, in other news, tried to sell my marble to plako and oxy for gems. Would be nice if one of them bites. I bet I can get more mileage out of my stone once Moai is complete, as others will want to complete their own Moais.
p.s. Changed the name of Bowling Alley to Chicken Coop in honour of everyone's favourite chicken manga, seeing how it was my 14th city.
