I was kind of expecting that. If there is any way to rush settling the stone site, we totally should.

They are Buddhist, so I think that makes them CivPlayers, since they were the Oracle team.

Given that, I don't think we'll get much beyond the stone in that area.
Contact next turn?

Well, they haven't seen our unit. We could choose not to make contact if we want.

if we are going to try and snipe the stone/horses spot (and the wine/many flood plains spot to the south, which I would like to grab as well) we should avoid contact. It becomes more awkward to grab 1 or 2 spots on their side of the lake after we have established diplomacy than afterwards.

do we not have any galleys built? we need a galley and 2 settlers (and probably more axes) quickly if we're gonna grab those spots. they will probably need a decent military force (and another galley for emergence restocking) in the long term.

I'd say don't make contact. That way we can claim ignorance of their presence when we snipe it.

If we don't make contact, N or NE with axe?
NE uncovers the south west of stone spot, and is "safer" if we don't want to contact.
N is better for overall exploration, but riskier for making contact.
What turn will the stone city be founded (in current plans)?
