Restarting hostilities with Piccadilly. This is not the entirety of the force I committed to taking this city - I have some additional troops on boats. Superdeath lost two cities. As I predicted, this war has been a complete disaster for him so far. I guess, I should be grateful, he essentially threw his empire on the altar of the blood god to help me win the game. Commodore built Kremlin in Afrika Korps, thus creating an immensely valuable target right on the border with Pindicator. He either has balls of adamantium or some lewd videos of Pindicator he can use as leverage on him. (Seriously, I really do not understand their relationship in this game. I checked their border, it is mostly demilitarized. An admirable level of mutual trust given its shape.) Sent a small expedition to put Scooter out of his misery. Nice XP farm he has here. (I did not forget to blockade this time). Piccadilly upgraded everything in his city. Expected but annoying. I have 20 Rifles and 8 Cannons against his 9 Rifles. Some of the Cannons will most likely need to bombard though. Also, Commodore's tech path seems insane to me. I thought he teched Nationalism for Nationhood but instead Free Speech was the choice. Techwise he went Military Tradition of all things. It explains Nationalism but can anyone explain Military Tradition to me? If he wanted a good land unit, instead of Nationalism -> Miltrad he could go Replaceable Parts -> Rifling. Only a little more expensive but a much better unit and puts him closer to Destroyers. 
Moved to a new place and, like, everything stopped working for me. Firstly, civ flat out refuses to launch and only after lots of experiments I figured out that it does launch if I don't have Internet connection and never had it during this session. I mean if I boot up the computer and it does not connect automatically to the Internet during the start - civ launches. The moment I connect myself to the Internet, civ refuses to launch and it does not get fixed even if I disconnect. To fix it I need to reboot and launch the game before the Internet connects. I have no idea what is the logic behind this and interpret it as early warning signs of robot uprising. Secondly, images does not embed. I click "embed image" in Onedrive, generate a link but it just does not get converted into an image. If I don't fix it, I will have to report with links to images, instead of images themselves.
Do I not understand how blockades work? I thought they removed the blockaded city from the trade network, unless it is connected in some other way. How then is Commodore still able to supply Scooter with Iron? Scooter upgraded some of his archers to Xbows including his Great General archer which killed my Rifle at 59 percent odds. I left four units in the city because there is Plemo's Galleon around but next turn it should fall. This is a large island directly to my south and the situation around it is tense. One Commodore's galleon you see in the picture and there is one more moving in that direction. There is generally an unnerving amount of traffic in the area, I spotted at least two Commodore's frigates some sentry Privateers and there are also Plemo's Galleons for some reason. I say one thing, if Commodore tries to settle on this island, we fight. Piccadilly did a funny thing. See these two hills to the south of Ahmedabad? He had forests on them until now. These forests were a source of great annoyance for me because I thought he could park Rifles there and use them as a base to kill off my units when I try to advance north. Now this obstacle is gone, lol. Also, I forgot to take a picture but I captured Varanasi at the cost of four Cannons and one Redcoat. He, on the other hand, lost ten Rifles. This battle was a good proof of concept: with enough cannons, I still can trade with him very well, despite all the promos. Power graph. Superdeath did damage to Piccadilly but suffered much more in return.

T1 - I blockade T2 - Scooter produces Crossbow. He whipped it obviously but I know for sure that if you lose the required resource after you whip, units don't get produced next turn (but they, hilariously, will get produced if you ever get your resource back). So, the blockade was not working as I expected it to work even on a turn-roll. About images - was it always the case for you or this is a new issue? |
