Broker/Plako are considering settling City 2 on the flats... I can't help but feel that giving up the defensive bonuses of the hill would be folly - especially as they realise they are going to be attached by Rome at some point...

Either way their front-line will be bad, with two cities on a line that could easily be forked while moving over defensive terrain.

Lots of interesting little settling races going on all over the map. No settling agreements in place yet, so I think many teams may find themselves pushing aggressively towards one neighbor but finding themselves squeezed on the other side in return.

I've also been trying to figure out the relative location of all the teams by reading the lurker threads. Here it is (I think), in clockwise order:

DMOC/Nakor -> Dantski -> Sulla/Speaker -> Jowy/Yazilliclick -> Regoarrarr/darreljs/sunrise089 -> Athlete/Kalin -> Iamjohn/Kodii/Zeviz -> Mortius (eliminated) -> LiPing/Whosit -> Broker/plako -> DMOC/Nakor

There's no contact between Broker/plako and DMOC/Nakor yet, and there's no contact between Iamjohn/Kodii/Zeviz and LiPing/Whosit, even though they have heard of each other through the now eliminated Mortius.

Regoarrarr/darreljs/sunrise089 are due north, and Broker/plako are due south. All of this should be known to anyone who actually looked at the full map, but I had fun figuring it out nonetheless. smile

It's interesting with the settling races - trying to work out if any poor person is going to be squeezed from both sides?

Wonder how long it will be before we have first serious conflict?

This was my thinking too when I saw how team Spullla approached diplomacy. Interesting that Jowy picks up on it.

If the goal is to build trust I think the best way to handle diplomacy is (seemingly) spontaneous responses. That could require some quick thinking, though!

Yes he's not very naturalistic about it. He mentioned that he was going to avoid Aidening their diplo but :-p ...its not really that hard to pick up on it.

I think they are just too preoccupied with their ridiculous microing of everything. Then again, Sullla doesn't play too much MP, is running everything past Speaker, and likes writing reports so its somewhat to be expect no matter what way you look at it..

Oh well it'll be fun seeing how they do. They'll either probably win or get dogpiled by 2-3 civs, it would be fun to see a well executed surprise attack on them.lol

maybe i'm wrong but isn't this unneccesarily spoilerish?

Course you may be unspoiled from Jowy's thread in which case i apologise.

I agree with Kyan.

Yeah, seriously.

Yeah, seems very spoilerish.

That's not the first time spoilers have popped up in Sullla/Speaker's thread... It seems with their bigger-than-usual following (which is to be expected) they get a lot more lurker comments, and in turn more spoilers.
