I think you could have settled on your side of the river allowing us both to have a city in the area. I think it was also quite aggressive. I also think it doesn't remotely compare to Commodore's plant which was needlessly aggressive.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

I think you should have settled on the desert hill 2N of the Copper first.

I've figured out the reasoning for Commodore's vendetta against us.
He can't handle the fact that I tell him his resource placement on maps is shit.

We played turn 50.
And we discovered that Commodore's newest city is not hooked up to the rest of his empire, which is not really a surprise.
I'm really curious where his capital is exactly.
In the south, davy found us. Gaspar realizes why he should not ignore my repeated entreaties that he notify me when he plays the turn during the day, as he failed to move out the stone warrior to resume scouting last turn.
Royal Crypts has boosted our MFG by a lot.

Well, we've decided to give up on The Pyramids and are instead building a worker in Old Ruins:
Those workers are all lined up to chop out more workers in ensuing turns, naturally.
We just whipped a Settler in Cathedral and have 2 more in production in New Tristram and Royal Crypts. It doesn't feel like we're painfully limping to Currency quite badly enough, so we need to rectify that. I'll try and get a dotmap up for some discussion over the next 24 hours.
In the south Dave advanced closer and we discovered more cows. If Commodore had seen this site, he'd have Pink Dotted here.
Whipping, not so great for the demos:

That's a new one. Why?

I assume you missed that I was kidding because you knew Dave had a projected finish date of this turn and were checking in to see if we managed to top it. Obviously, we were whipping that worker into overflow to be timed with Math coming and all the chops finishing - T53 finish date on Mids.
For the dedicated few - Dave finished Mids this turn, as I started to fear a few turns back and especially much once he landed henge. While I'm not surprised, we are a bit frustrated and have to reassess things. On the plus side, the combined failgold on Henge and Mids will power most of a run to Currency. I can't get too upset about the wonder finish date - there's literally no way we could have hit T51 without doing something radical and probably crippling. T52 maybe, if we took the riskier non-Math route but that wouldn't have been good enough. So tip of the cap to Dave.

Well, we played turn 52.
There must be something fundamentally wrong with the way I go about this wonder business since I've been beat to a wonder by 1-2 turns in all of my games. Anyhow, we'll tech Currency and then assess our possible choices after that.
Commodore's city is empty to no surprise.
We met yuris in the south like I've been predicting.
Other than that, there's not much to say. We have a lot of "1t Chop" signs.

Warrior in the south found nothing. We'll want to try to find a chance to defog the eastern shore by the time we tech Sailing so that we can get trade routes with yuris.
Warrior in the west discovers Commodore's city to the southwest of Torg. I guess his capital is to the south of that and he expanded in two arms towards us, eastward and northeastward.
We'll be in position to found two cities next turn. I guess Leoric's Manor will need a road to be hooked up, that's annoying. They will obviously cost us but since we have gold to burn right now it might actually speed up Currency by a turn. I'd like to give a village back to the capital, but we really need to finish that Axeman so we'll have to work a mine.

I'm having some regrets about planting this many cities at once, which I'm sure some in the audience are saying "I told you so," but we strongly feel that we need to do some land grabbing before Commodore takes it all. Whatever, I hate Commodore.
I turned off tech again because the new cities cost more than expected. The ETA did drop down to 8 turns, however.
Warrior in the south found nothing, but there is a yuris chariot 3E of it that I forgot to sign.
Yeah, the GNP is abysmal with tech off. I'm not sure if I should be blaming Gaspar's constant "we need more settlers" or not.
