[serious] AFAIK, your map script doesn't generate islands big enough for Colonial Maint to kick in and it's AW. So I vote "Play on" [/serious]

One thing that I guess could happen, is that someone gets a really big island city. Then their capital is captured/razed and the palace moves to the island. Bam, instead colonial maintenance death. :D
I guess if it's not too much trouble to fix it, there's certainly no downside, and it is the setting we agreed on.

I'm happy either way, but if it doesn't take much work to sort it I don't see the harm in changing it provided everyone agree.

 I'm pretty certain that in that circumstance, the colonial maintenance would only be a temporary burden.

The "No goody huts" game option isn't set, either. Seven, does your script generate goody huts?
EDIT: And NTT isn't set either, but I don't think that matters since it's Always War.
