Pretty sure he can whip out at least 5 Catapults by the time I attack. I could circle back around but that's going to take a lot of time. Even after all the threads I've read, I'm not sure what to do against a competent opponent who can throw cats at me on the defensive. Besides, you know, having a bigger army and better economy. Blugh. Civ is an econ game. There probably aren't many cute tactics I can do to get ahead. If I had a bunch of galleys maybe I could snipe a vulnerable backline city if any are coastal (but I don't know). I don't even get fast boats anymore.

Cheater Hater got his turn in, but I'm not inclined to try playing right now. Still in a very sour mood.
Also my laptop is a furnace from being on all day....

Turn 110 update (partial):
I have some pictures to upload, but I'll do that later.
The war is off, for now. I'm glad that I logged in at the start of the turn, because Cheater Hater did, of course, move those Catapults out of my view. For all I know, he's got a lot more than those 2 right now. He's also moved some of his defenders out of Kamigawa (I SO wish I had been able to capture that city in the first war). The straw that tipped things, though, is that Krill/Novice poked at Plano with a Chariot, threatening both my stacks of 2 Workers who were sent to the forests to chop. I had to cover each Worker stack with a spear, depriving my attack stack of anti-mounted defense.
Currency comes in at the end of the turn, and my economy should get a nice boost. GNP chart suggests I'm not that far behind Cheater Hater. I think I'll probably get Code of Laws next so I can finally get my cheap Court Houses. Since the attack isn't happening now, I'm going to see about getting a few more settlers out to grab a few more spots that are available. None of them are great, insofar as each will be vulnerable locations, but possession is 9/10s of the law, etc. One is west of Angle Bay that can pick up a lot of food resources (it will be vulnerable to forking if CH attacks, but I'd rather get the location before him, if possible), and another is southeast in the cold where it will but heads with Krovice's ice city. There's a couple other spots I could probably go for, and I want to try getting some boats on the water to see if there's any islands available.
I'm planning to steadily increase my military, because I kind of have to, but perhaps I can make it to another key military tech before CH and try again.
Courthouses will be nice for the EPs as well as reduced maintenance costs. I really want to see research on CH and a couple other people. I think HBR will be the next military tech, as that gets me Horse Archers and War Elephants. Then I'll want to head for Macemen in some fashion. I want Calendar to hook up the couple calendar resources I have.
Monarchy would be nice, but I don't even have mysticism. I think getting Calendar would be a better short-term choice for happiness, though I'd like to be able to swap to OR/Hereditary Rule at some point. For the time being, I'll be using my big military to deter anyone from attacking me as I (try) to get a few more cities out. Currency will help me afford that now, but to be honest, either CH or Krovice could easily take either of the city locations I'm looking at before I even finish the Settlers.....

OK, guess I lied. No pics tonight. Maybe tomorrow?
CH has played turn... I guess the schedule shifted with the clock change.

I lied about the screen shots. Ha... ha ha.
My interest in the game is fading a bit again as I no longer have a specific goal and my window of opportunity to do something big seems to have closed. Cheater Hater showed me a War Elephant, so he has HBR too. I'm trying to tech CoL now to help deal with expenses, and don't have HBR yet. I guess calling off the attack was good because I think I'd be getting slaughtered now, but it does mean that I'm probably doomed to a slow decline. CH's power is rapidly catching up with mine, and he has the stronger economy so.... Yeah.
Maybe I can find or make an opening to deal him some damage but I dunno.
Krill/Novice have also been harassing/threatening my workers with a chariot, so that's been obnoxious, too. I'll probably get piled sooner or later, once my neighbors' power catches up with their economy.

Barely noticed that CH declared war on me this turn. Moved my defense stack into position, but his power has caught up to mine. He has catapults, horse archers, war elephants. Krill/Novice's power is caught up to mine, too. I kind of hope they declare as well. Major stresses and problems in real life and my poor performance in the game have sucked any interest I have. My biggest fear is that I'm not going to get killed off now.
As much as I'd just like to throw in the towel I'm sure there will be screams everywhere if I do that, so I guess I'll defend as best I am able to.

Cheater Hater has shifted the invasion to be a 3 prong one. Sorry I'm not documenting this but I just don't have the time or motivation to do more than play the turns. He demanded two cities from me but I refused. My power is now at #4, but really... I think looking back I had already lost when I failed to make as much progress in the first war as I needed to. I'm the Vikings but everyone else has more navy than me. Ugh. I want to make CH fight for his gains, and maybe then when my power plunges the other vultures nearby will come to take their piece and put me out of my misery.

About time. Dtay declared war on me and has a big stack of Knights. My core is all defended by a few archers so it should just be a matter of time before CH and Dtay (and maybe even Krill/Novice, I might just declare on them, lol) carve me up.
Sorry I haven't been reporting. Been very pre-occupied with my move which isn't quite over, and despite my best efforts I just cannot find the fun in this game any more. I'm still kinda happy that I got to participate in the big game and that I lasted as long as I did(?), but bleh. Hopefully some of the lurkers can politely inform me of where my big mistakes were when this is all over.

Of course he has Knights. Sigh. I wanted to celebrate that I made it this far into the game, but in truth it's not really an accomplishment because I know most players don't launch offensives before Knights anyway.

Krill has finally piled on, too. Well, "piled." I think he just used a few mounted units to kill Overland Park. He razed it. I took a few scattered screenshots that I'll put up later, maybe. I'm terribly preoccupied with real life stuff still. At least I should be eliminated in 3-5 turns, depending on how long it takes them to kill my outlying cities. But my entire core is gone now. Woooo.
