Well, the bad news for Oledavy, I go nothing to loose compared to him atm.

There were three options this turn, maneuver into position for Lafayette, attack it or play defensively.

I took the first approach, as the first option gives Oledavy the option to make a mistake, which he probably won´t. I need to wait on reinforcements before I can make an attack move atm.

Moving my northern archer, I scout a lone warrior, double promoted, which I will take as my prize, moving the 2nd horseman to pillage the horses.

Thanks to Oledavy´s encampment and his peace offer for Buenos Aires, and his advancement this will be a fight to the death, i fear.

Singaboy has taken Seoul and pillaged his campus.

There are not many terribly good moves atm, but doing damage and preserving units is the best I can do.

There is another horseman by Oledavy behind Lafayette.

Sad thing is, I should have gone for Lafayette and this approach one turn earlier with one horseman more.

   

I also asked Singaboy for one gold piece. Hopefully he recognizes from this and the mil power that I am at a stalemate and need help.

His city and his encampment placement has been inspired. Right now the best thing I can do is beat a bit of a retreat, once again. The layout of rivers and hills make an advancement costly and I can not afford anymore losses right now, I need to kill units above all.

One warrior is killed whilst running away in the northern desert and it is district planning time.

In my analysis, the game is already pretty much thrown in favour of Russia and China.

Oledavywas way too successful and forced Singaboy and me to attack him.

If Singaboy peaces out, this will be a long, slow slog to death for Oledavy and me. He probably should, I hope he doesn´t.

How far away is China? Should send something to scout.

We have at least one more excellent place to settle, west of Buenos Aires. If we hold onto BA, I don't see why the game is thrown -- what is China's science rate, how many techs does he have, how many cities? Same for Russia, what's he even doing?

Most importantly, this is multi-player -- stuff changes, people go to war, there are openings to exploit.

For example, coliseum. That's a huge wonder, amazing boost to culture, reckon we can chop it?

You might be in a good position to threaten me, Oledavy, but my horses are quick and strong.

A very smart move by Oledavy backfires when he puts his horse next to my city.

I do not need to bombard him to kill it, and I need to as it could pillage the farm.

So two attacks later by 5move horseman.

   

One horse is not more.

He upgraded a swordsman so we are still in danger, but he must get the sense that Buenos Aires will be costly and long.
There is another horse by Oledavy which went north last turn, probably lurking for my archers, so once again, greatly done by him I get no shot in.

   

If he tries to kill a unit, I am confident I can kill his archer, the smart thing would be to not push further by him this turn. And yes, we have to go for a wall in BA.

I am running Oligarcy with -1 gold per unit, Maneuver, 30+ for builders, +1 production and +2 envoys.

   

District planning time. I am thinking 1SE of Helice for commercial, 1 W for Ithake and 1 NE for Mycenes, 1 W for BA.

Not sure I want a second encampment or rather an industrial one near Ithake.

What is Singaboy doing, if he is marching on Hamilton, Oledavy is crazy to continue attacking me.

A turn of respite as Oledavy reads the situation right, Buenos Aires will be impossible to take without a serious effort. I took about 10 screenies to get some longterm planning going.

No worries, even if things go decent or if they go bad, I always complain a bit, because it should go better.

First of all Scoreoverview. We are keeping with the pack apart from tech(oledavy) and wonderscores. Our war needs to pay off soonish, as we invested a lot of cogs in this endeavour.

   

Singaboy went with Classical Republic, which he can afford as Germany, which means he went with Horses as well, he built swords and wants to stop after Seoul or he is insane.smile
The campus has been pillaged, which is good.

   

Oledavy wisely retreated and I will tank and accept his two free shots per turn in the south, as I am planning to either strike Lafayette or Hongkong with overwhelming force.
I also put down dots and district planning in the region.

I know a horse is lurking somewhere, either it went north to Hongkong, or it is just in range to kill one of my archers if I am not careful.

Right now we can either make a strike north with 3 horses and 2 archers and defend BA, or push Lafayette with all of our might and a 4th horseman incoming. Undecided yet, there.

   

China´s borders are barely visible under the fog, and we made contact with Russia´s scout the turn before. If I can afford it, I will do a +50 settler policy on the next possibility and build 2 for Mercury Coast Dot and either a tundrawaste city or a mountain city. Two possible cities:

A quick overview of my cities: Buenos Aires, frontline city. Decent production and Income even under siege and plundered.

   

A wall will be erected and chopped as soon as my 1build worker can come north.

The capital, yes another horseman, I am not kidding around, I want a city and blood.

   

Mined another hill this turn to bring Ithake up to speed, I am leaning towards a commercial and an industrial district, although we could go encampment as well.

   

And Helice, newly founded and quite productive, good spot. An Archers is prebuilt in the case something happens on this border.

All in all, I think I am going to plop down some commercial districts next turn, before getting irrigation.

I would quickly research Mysticism for a civic and government swap. Oligarchy is useless to us, autocracy is much better. It gives a bunch of yields which are still significant at our scale, especially the +1 culture and +1 science. It also swaps a useless diplo policy for military, and we do need two there -- both conscription and Maneuver.
