Settling pigs would make most sense for them i'd guess ... unless they have a Jewish Missionary on the way, a city picking off both Pig and cows would be dead weight for to long, furthermore, a city aiming at stone would be far from there other cities, and would be dead weight as well for quite a while before it starts contributing

... actually ... thinking a bit ... could they aim for 1n3w of Dalvagati for their settlement party? (with the axe detouring to protect the settler on its route) ... it would pick out grassland cows, a FP and after borderpopping horses

We will get some nice visibility on the oasis area next turn with the expansion of Mansa's Muse borders. I would prefer for the scout to sniff out more cities.

We have a scout to map out new land and contacts. We will see where they settle a new city in the area via th culture overlay in any case.

I would not be surprised to see them settle the stone with that settler. CFC is a website of single player players. They settle far reaching blocker cities all the time.

Before making a bunch of assumptions about a settler build, it would be more useful to do a simple espionage check on what's going on with production inside Indira. smile

Formula: (Sabotage Production * (Their EP + 100)) / (Investigate City * 3)

Terasvin = 21 production (???)
Daivagati = 67 production (library)
Indira = nothing under Sabotage Production

What this means is that CFC's capital built something at the start of the current turn (T86). There is no production in the box right now. Whatever they chopped that forest into, we won't be able to see the results until next turn. It's entirely possible that they are heading towards a settler or worker, but it won't be completing next turn.

Now that we have visibility on these cities, I would love to appoint one person to tracking the production in enemy cities each turn. It's very easy to automate via Excel or Google Docs spreadsheet: just plug in the new numbers each turn and see what the change was from last turn. This allows us to see the production rate of all enemy cities and get a great deal of insight into what they are building (you can normally anticipate settlers pretty easily with this method of production tracking). The one downside is that it does take some time each turn to do this, but time is one thing that's not in short supply for this game.

Would anyone be interested? It doesn't have to be kjn, and probably shouldn't be for purposes of saving time.

EDIT: Oh, and by the way. Why is that CFC axe moving to the west? Because there's a barb warrior incoming into their territory from that direction. We spotted it and I mentioned it twice in our turn reports as something we could warn CFC about. Remember? Their axe is moving to go kill it.

Daivagiti was 2-pop whipped this turn, so it's not a library. MMight be a settler whip (especially if they've put a chop or two into it first).

Unless whips show up as hammer-in-box, in which case it's a worker whip.

Keeping close track of enemy cities is worthwhile, but I'm spending far too much time on the game already between regular C&D work and the micro planning. Having a backup C&D guy would be great as well. I do try to pick screenies of the espionage screen now and then, but I don't record or keep track of it currently.

There is also a simpler equation for determining the hammers in the production box, Sullla, that T-Hawk contributed:

hammers = sabotage_cost / city_revolt_cost * 650 / 6

The regular C&D sheet already has a page for keeping track of city buildings, too, but I've only used it for military significant buildings so far.

Whips are hammers in the box in between the whip and the item completing, yes.

i thought i had a page in there tracking hammers in the box?

this got to be extremely tedious though when the number of cities i got visibility on went up.
But! i was using the EP formula - the other formula would indeed save time.

@NH: thanks! Then it's likely a worker whip. We'll see next turn.

@Waterbat: that sheet was removed earlier, but I still have a copy in the original files (in the other C&D sheet I have, but which I don't use right now), and it uses the city revolt cost. On the other hand, it's isn't set up to handle lots of cities right now, and the formula is easy enough anyway.

well, its similar to the problem you have with your "Buildings" sheet. if you want it all on one sheet and you want cities of a particular civ to be grouped together, you are going to spend time inserting columns or rows to accommodate additional cities.
