I also think a lot of people fired off fairly early golden ages. Its a wonder you want for your first GA so once you've fired off one it loses some appeal. That and with all the wars I think a lot of production has been going towards units.
I am disappointed in them all that no one has grabbed HG. Even without stone it might be worth it for Amica. I'm kind of expecting Nauf to grab now that he has stone.

Poor earnest naufragar. Ugh. He’s just so poor and so earnest, can you believe it?
Let’s insult him now.

I mean I'm impressed he someone persuaded Amica to not take advantage of his undefended north. Amica basically helped get him back in this game. Weird world.

Why doesn't Ginger just take all of Gavagai , after everybody's spent their powder? I mean it's knights vs numids. Even if he gets through Commodore that's 3 subpar cities and a long coast he'd have to defend. Is it just fixation? I can't make sense of it otherwise.

1) I think he is focused heavily on Commodore. 2) He would have to figure out how to split with SD.

I think this is an example of player skill in understanding the art of the possible.

If other people were still in the war and Gav was in total collapse he 100% could take 2-3 gav cities and then go take on SD. This may* still happen. Honestly his plans for a knight attack against Commodore I don't hold high hopes for., so I could see a situation where he war peaces Commodore to then go after Gav once Amica and Nauf go after Gav again (assuming they don't go after each other). Nauf is probalby* going to do something with his knights.

Cramming knights down a 1 tile wide isthmus to claim 4 cities and one wonder he needs to obsolete was always questionable. Hence the point I made about building a stack including siege for a potential war to take s5uff from Gav including Mids. And Com researching Engineering for Castles is the exact defence needed.
Ginger might have 8 cities but as his GA ended lots of his final tiles worked are pretty trash and he could have whipped out 3 knights from each city to sit on top of his stack and Gav would been a ear on the floor. Grab mids, use PS, and just roll around the world.

So we agree that Gav is both tastier for Ginger and less spiky at this point? And I also agree that this would have been the moment to return to slavery and go all in on knights. Moreso as I think that he has the GPs on hand for the next GA in order to return later (he can also just go for Taj, who else would).

Yeah I agree with you Mig, except I don't know if Gav is less spiky. Having the choice to attack either Gav or Com is a pretty rough choice, it's like choosing between removing a verruca with a blowtorch or fuming sulphuric acid.
Gav might be less motivated but that just might free him to be even more dangerous.
