Here is a nice word of the day ... if we need it.
grimoire ... A book of magic spells and invocations.

Next cities coming up in 2, 4 and 5 turns. Grimoire is a nice name for one of them.
The problem is not their total power but how exposed our copper and copper city are. I will have the warrior patrol between the two tiles it is on now and one to the north of that position (see post 216 for picture). I don't think there is a way to sneak a chariot through then.

That's your fault. You reported in detail about that exploit.

I will shift the sheep/rice city one tile to the north.
It starts out a bit weaker there but there is a decent chance we will orphan a fish or the like with the initial placement.
Gavagai's scout has reached us from the west. Our own scout is standing next to Amicalola's warrior. There is a lot going on. Maybe have a look, Ruff_Hi.

I will take a tour of the game later today.
Word of the Day ... legerity
1) Lightness in movement or action; nimbleness, agility; (later also) flexibility of mind; mental agility.
2) Lack of weight or weightiness; lightness of touch or feeling.

Founded city #5. I forgot to rename it, will do so next turn.
The economy is starting to creak a bit. We are down to 40% effective research rate. Unit cost and supply are already above 0 as we have a bunch of units, several of which are outside our territory.
City #6 follows next turn.
We'll see how much costs go up.
City #7 is due in 3 turns.
Do you prefer marked location or the hill 1NW of the marker? The latter is better long term but requires a monument to grab the cows. (I would have it stagnate on gold until cows are in our culture.)
The gold will hopefully help the economy. First cottages are coming online in due course as well. City #8 on the island north of the capital should also help.

Cities near others are better on hills.
Word of the day ... pantophagous
Eating all kinds or a great variety of food.
Do you have a food rich city handy?

Well, the gold city is not really near anyone else. We still have time to decide. The barbarian warrior is making a nuisance of itself atm.
Option 1: On the marked plains forest. Cow and Gold in first ring. Contributes early (units, maybe a worker though that would be slow). Would have a great deal of difficulty growing without ditching the gold completely later on. Unless we disfigure perfectly good river grasland tiles with farms. *shudders*
Option 2: On the plainshill. Gold only in the first ring. Would work Gold and build a monument short term. Gets two 3 food fin inland seas for more growth later on.

I'm leaning towards option 2. City #7 does not have to be online immediatly and it would be better longterm there. If the worker shops the monument the city can even contribute a couple axes/spears/archers in the near term.
AT, the last player we hadn't met, has a warrior fortified some tiles west of Grimoire. It looks like AT is to the west of us and Gavagai is further away somewhere beyond AT. If so AT's scouting is as atrocious as mine.
As for food, Soubrette has +8 with pigs, cow. Capital can reach +13 if it takes the cow from Soubrette. Grimoire (5th city) can reach +11 eventually with rice, crabs and 3 flood plain cottages.
