Is this legal?

kalin Wrote:My idea was: 2 workers move on the forested tile on turn T0, then they road on turn T0+1, the chariots move on the hill 2 NE of Paris, end turn then immediately attack on turn T0+2. I haven't worked this out very well though.

not to my mind...

IMO it'd be legal just as long as the chariots don't double move?

Although I certainly don't decide these rules issues smile

Kinda hope it's chariot rush time as well! Wondering if they'd keep it - a holy city in close enough distance of your own capital is quite a prize?

The sentence is rather ambiguous, but I don't think Kalin is planning to doublemove the chariots. It'll be pretty obvious what's going to happen when those chariots suddenly turn up at the border, but there's a fair chance there's not much the Byzantians can do in defense either way.

Unless it grows to size 2 (It should) before it is captured it will raze. No?

I don't know if i'd keep it... I dont think it fits in with their inital dot map.

I think their city and Oracle plan is fine. It's a 10-player game, you're not going to win unless you take chances and try to get ahead. Most people are too chicken to really rush a neighbour anyway, but Athlete's reaction has impressed me. I hope he actually goes through with the rush. And if he doesn't then it will be a big win for Rego's crew.

I agree, Shadyforce, although it's Kalin who seems to be the driving force.

Since there is no indication that he will 'sneak' the workers at the end of turn, and they also will spend a whole turn roading so they will be 'visible' for Byzence. (but I trust them to pretend they are encouraging religion spreading smile )

Of course that is as long as the chariots DON'T double move, but there is no need for it imo.

But hiding them 1t inside the border and using roads to allow them to move 3t in total and attack all the SAME turn is perfectly fine.

It is an holy city that alreadu as more than 10 culture, so it should be able to be kept

Kalin Wrote:Greetings to the Greeks!

We wanted to ask you for your thoughts about Byzantium. We think that they
are a very dangerous civilization: their team members are very good and
experienced, and their choice of civ/leader gives them potential access to
one of the best UUs in the game fast via lightbulbs. Given the current
situation I think it would be in both our interests to work together. If you
are interested in this please let us know.

Thank you for sharing the info about the other civs. We are also about the
meet Rome next turn: we saw their borders under the fog. They are quite far
from you and about SW from the Incans.

Kalin of the Ottomans
Now this is a hard riddle to solve. There are quite a few ways I can handle this.
A) Send them packing. Tell Rego about their plans. Gain Rego's trust, but lose an ally against Rego who share the same fears that I do.
B) Agree to help them against Rego. For all I know they could be best friends and this would just be a test to see if I'm loyal or not.
C) Agree to help them against Rego, and they turn out to be sincere. Then I could either:
- Spy on Rego and leak info to Ottomans
- Break our NAP. Remember there were terms.. It's actually true that we aren't really on the same page about the borders. So I could basically break the NAP without actually violating it.
D) Wait and see first, then take action later on.
E) There's always another option..
Heh... Jowy's reaction could make all the difference for Byzantium. There's a pretty big difference between A) and C).
