[SPOILERS - PBEM17] regoarrarr - Bismarck of Inca

zakalwe Wrote:Yes, so the investment is repaid in 26.5 turns rather than 40 turns, which is kind of what you'd expect on quick speed (I think?).

Man way to burst my bubble lol

Okay - 1AD. Time for a bit of a (long overdue) overview

Here's the main continent.

Capital of Plako is about to grow to size 11 and is working some good riverside cottages. I'll have another Great Person out of here next turn - 22% odds of prophet, 49% scientist and 29% engineer.

On the north coast, Zakalwe has the Temple of Solomon (5gpt currently, though I have 2 missionaries and a market here completing soon).

Over in the east, Pindicator has Moai Statues and is quite the rockstar of a city - just popped its 3rd ring

Mardoc is on the NW coast about to 3 pop whip a settler

Sciz is on the SW coast working floodplains, stone and copper and Profane is on the near east coast making my missionaries currently.

On the "4x4" island, we have Commodore and room for one more fishing village on the east coast of the island.

I also have planned the following cities:
* South of the stone (crab for food)
* South of Profane (crab for food)
* South of Sciz on the peninsula (fish for food)
* West of Mardoc (grass cows for food)
* Between Mardoc and Zakalwe (grass cows)

Here's "Lebron island"

2 very new cities here - getting their terraces chopped out. Potentially room for 1-2 cities over to the east, depending on the food situation.

So here's the "other" ice marble island - Mackoti island.

Mackoti is a pretty well developed city, and I just founded the city of Sunrise089 after negotiations with Shoot the Moon. Again, possibilities for a city near the whale / marble, but at this point that would be just a giant drag, especially if there's no food in the fog.

And here's the jungle arm and the center of the world

The tip city of T-Hawk is growing like crazy with 2 fish tiles. We're chopping jungle on the gems and will get a forge and lighthouse whipped out in quick succession. I have one more city planned there near the iron / dyes.

I have 13 cities total right now and 6 more planned plus any potential marble cities.

Tech-wise, as you can see I'm about to finish Theology (probably founding Christianity), upon which I'll start the AP somewhere. That will give me the (regularly-powered lol) hammer bonus as well as likely get Kyan (and possibly others) to spread Judaism which of course helps me. After that I probably need to get Code of Laws, as well as Monarchy and Calendar for resource improvement. If I do pop an engineer then I guess the Great Library? Mausoleum?

How do you plan on keeping up (tech wise) with all the financial civs?
Also could we get your thoughts on the map layout and a more zoomed out picture?

Been awhile since I posted!

Good news - after a brief setback due to Kyan sending me the wrong save, Operation Rush the Great Library is a success!!!

Pretty original name for an operation, huh? lol

Also founded a new city for iron

Bato and Tatan are the next 2 cities up!

We got a welcome email from the new Kyan

Quote:Greetings Regoarrarr of the Inca!

I am taking Kyan’s place as leader of the Dutch in PBEM #17. Coming in mid-game I am trying to get oriented. So, if you’ll bear with me, a few questions:

· How would you like to be addressed?

· Can I use this email address for diplomatic communiqués?

· Do you have a skype?

· What time zone do you live in?

· What times are you generally available to chat?

· I understand that we have a NAP, but Kyan could not find the expiration date. Could you please fill me in on the length and terms of this deal?

· Do we have any other outstanding agreements that I am unaware of?

I can be reached at this email address (davidharris93@gmail.com) Obviously I have a gmail if you want to chat with me on there. My Skype username is oledavy if you have one and want to add me.

I am live in Louisiana, so GMT-6. I am usually available to talk in the evenings and early mornings.

I understand you have Cyneheard ded-lurking for your team, please give him my kind regards on your spoiler thread – just so you have an excuse to spam another post wink

I look forward to many years of profitable relations between our two great empires. The save game will be along shortly, soon as I finish my renaming scheme :D

Regards,

David

Quote:Hi David,

Thanks for introducing yourself. I haven't really been following the tech thread so I did not know that you had signed up yet, so welcome!

To answer a few of your questions - yes, this is a good email, and while I do have a skype account I don't typically use it. You can address me however you want - I answer to many things :-). I live in Cincinnati, OH so I am in the eastern time zone 1 hour ahead of you, and I'm generally pretty available most of the day.

We do have a NAP - here are the details

* NAP between our two nations, starting on T67 and lasting for 25 turns, up to but not including T92.
* After that, 5 turn cooldown notice. So either team could give notice on T87 or any time thereafter
* Non-binding, but it is both of our intention to re-negotiate and extend the NAP.
* Standard clauses including disallowing gifting units to a 3rd party to attack as well as ROP for enemy units.

Netherlands also agreed to not settle on the island between us, which I've now settled most of anyways so that's moot. I agreed to not found a city that would overlap your city 3SW of the rice on that island, though that was later amended to allow me to settle a city with 1 tile of water overlap.

The only other discussions we had had was regarding missionaries. Kyan had talked about some interest in receiving Jewish missionaries from me. We had talked about but not agreed on your spreading Judaism should I build the Apostolic Palace, which shoudl complete shortly (thus if you spread Judaism you will get the hammer bonus from Jewish temples / monasteries)

Glad to meet you and hopefully your new naming scheme will make more sense to me :-D

The NAP

I would like to extend the NAP as well. What time frame are you looking for in terms of an extension? You mentioned you wanted to renegotiate the terms of the treaty, what did you have in mind?

Missionaries

I appreciate your offer, but I have already brokered a deal with Shoot to spread Buddhism throughout my empire. I know this may seem to be a weedy move in light of your near-completion of the Apostolic Palace - I just have no interest in attempting to leverage that advantage by building a priest economy.

So that's disappointing. When the save comes back around tomorrow I'll try to take some more pics

Okay it's been a long time without a good ol' update.

First of all, when I got the save, I checked the event log, as I usually do

Oh, no! Nospace has kicked off a 2ND golden age!?!?!?

I even went so far as to chat them up on IM, congratulating them on their golden age. They acted sufficiently confused, so I went back and checked and figured out my error
