Looking at the actual stack, 4 knights and 12WE versus 12 cats is going to be a truly brutal first stage of the battle, and the second stage will jot be much better...it all depends on which units get hit by the collateral and if Com can get the HA to have odds or not. Not sure if he can with those extra knights.

Well that is an anticlimax.

I wonder if the best thing for Ginger to do now is retreat in the medium term? Taking the city only makes sense if he continues after wiping out the stack but he can't attack this turn as he has no hitters and next turn he will be presented with an empty city and no fast movers run Comm down, so raze and retreat looks smartest with a possible resettle 1SE, but even that will not hold inner ring hordes from capital culture.

Note: Ginger does not have a medic in his stack, and also does not understand what happened popcorn That at least gives hope for future fireworks from misplays.

I would have been tempted to leave behind some fully fortified regular archers as well or even instead. They won't be useful if he decides to attack again this turn. Now if he already decided to retreat to capital and I missed that, makes more sense.

It's always an ad hoc decision, what to leave behind. He chose well getting that amount of cats to commit, but any archers would have been trashed by collateral and free XP.

Look at it this way if he had left a fifth unit it would have lost 40ho from collateral and it would have died to pretty much anything, damaged Knight or WE. So Com played that correctly and probably shouldn't lose any more cities.

I expect Ginger to over commit now and get wiped. Just need enough collateral in place.

Ginger, didn't heal, split some units off and kept his main stack on flat ground. I wonder if Commodore will try again. It doesn't look like he has a ton more units coming, but if not now when?

Ginger is screwed trying to hold any of these cities now, the culture will not let him.

And yet there is the funking Mids city in revolt on the other side of his empire.

Ginger, at some point you will understand that Comm is probably the most pragmatic person on the forum and would have left you alone. Ask him, if you sent him anything symbolising detent after the GA and you had ended it in slavery, would he have done nothing to annoy you?

I meant to mention it, but Gav sending random stacks into SD territory when SD has the road and defensive reinforcement advantage is just pure smoke  / checked out. He has cultural control, just keep building up cats and hitters and hope to pay him back at the very least.
