I suggested a compromise that we swap the week before (which is this week), but I have no issue with doing to swap next Monday (Pin travels on the Thursday, I believe), as that gives a few days to iron out any issues.

Swapping at T40 rather than T60 will probably be a two week delay. Given Pin is travelling in two weeks how about a compromise and we swap over on one day the week before (say Wednesday 17/5/23)? That way we can iron out any problems before Mjmd subs in and at current rate should be around early T50's?
Although I will point out that at the rate we are playing that will put the swap around T75, given we have played 20 turns in the past week. Keep this up and the game will be finished by the the end of July. Not that I'm complaining, if we're playing at this pace I'd be far more relaxed about most things given it's a far shorter commitment.

Keep in mind that the pace is going to slow as soon as the first wars are declared regardless of whether we're sequential or not. Ideally we'd want to switch right before the first war, but unless people want to share their plans it's going to be tough to get it exactly right.
I'm fine with T75. Krill has my info right, so the last day I'll be able to play is next Wednesday, 9 days from now.

If / when you decide to switch to sequential here is what needs to happen:
1) T59 (or turn before switch) whomever the last player is needs to NOT end turn.
2) Let Ramk know. Ramk will then end turn and switch to sequential T60 (or whatever turn decided).
3) T60 (or whatever) needs to be played in order. Notifications don't seem to work on the first turn so notifying next person via message or tech thread is useful. I don't remember but don't log in out of order this turn (once sequential no harm but not this turn).

I was in favour of an earlier switch, but yeah, the pace has been too good to lose it
I think we can continue until T75 or when the first real war is declared, whichever happens earlier

Sounds good, my first real war is scheduled for turn 78, so we're okay on my end.
When we do the changeover, then, looks like it'll be me who doesn't end turn, I'll email Ramk, and then nod it along to Yuri. Should be simple enough.

Sounds like a plan.

At current turn pace we will be getting to turn 60 around Wednesday this week.
I thought that's when we were planning on swapping, but I'm also enjoying our current turn pace.
Edit: read the test of the posts. Monday the 22nd sounds good

Spitballing here, regarding a future game, but is it possible to swap backwards and forwards between simul and sequential turns?

Fairly sure Charriu/Ramk already confirmed it could be swapped back and forth. IIRC
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."
