With all those forests, you can try and chop a wonder in that city. Alternatively, we like war......

You're damning about the galley that you assume will have a unit that will capture your worker? Or the fact that you're almost out of cash and still at negative cashflow?

The Galley. I'm betting there are two promoted axes on it since its coming from the barb city where he had to kill 6+ barb warriors.

I'm actually not worried about the negative cash flow. I have at least 2 more turns before strike and I'm betting I can be in the black at the end of next turn. Actually if Mackoti takes the worker I KNOW I'll be in the black since I have 4 unit cost.

Thankfully Mackoti's galley retreated. Things are still tense, but at least I have 5 units around upturned nose:

That's the axe and spear on the workers, an axe, archer and chariot in the city itself. I'm going to waste a bunch of worker turns next turn as these workers move onto forests. I'll move to to the SW forest and 3 to the north forest. The road the SW one and chop the north one. The archer should be able to hold the city alone against the chariot chance. and I'll have one axe and one spear on the north forest. The chariot will move onto the SW forest. Additionally I have a chariot, axe and spear in the city threatened by Macks Galley so that's safe as well.

Financially, I'm in the black. 3 cities grew this turn. Each one grew on to a non-commerce tile. I'll switch each one onto a commerce tile next turn and I actually should start gaining money. Oh and my tech is #1. Lit will take 2 turns. Glib will be built in 3.

Now I just need to survive and balance the budget with units as I tech past all these other guys.

We have liftoff!

Not a spaceship, but we generating gold! Now to build a ton of units and go into the red again because Mackoti might attack:

He wins if he can amass enough of a threat to take a city or two. Or just generally knock me back.

One other note, Moogle got GLH 2 turns ago. Someone has a GNP of 183 this turn. Mine is 130. Now mine will remain constant from here out while other may go up and down. Still 183 is a bit disturbing.

Tech path after lit: Math>construction or currency depending on if Mackoti's power keeps rising. Then go back for sailing. From there maybe I go for the free GA, maybe calendar maybe MC.

BTW one final thing, I'll have two chops coming into Upturned nose. I was going to have them go straight into the Library to bring it up to 52/60 but what if I sank them both into a 1 turn stele with 10H overflow back into the library. That'd bring the library to 36 the turn after the stele. At that point I'll be at 3 pop. If I go one more turn to get the lib to 40 I can 1 pop whip it. So we're talking a Stele End of next turn and the lib in 4 turns. The alternative is chops in to the lib and it gets done in 3 turns. I think the stele first might be better. I need to culture push moogle and he has a jump on me with the stonehenge monument. The good thing is that my stele gives +25% + the lib will give me an edge.

And the UB comes in handy, shocker.

Actually, I was going to ask, how does that 25% work? I didn't think culture accumulation in anything but integers, and thus the stele wouldn't kick in until you had 4pt. Do you instead keep 1.25 per turn? That's a lot better of a UB if so.
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.

Actually yes. I get 1.25 culture per turn. Thus every border has popped in 4 turns with the stele as compared to 5 with the monument. So not bad actually. With the library it should give me 3x.25 = 3.75 per turn which means I'm getting an extra culture every other turn from the lib and an extra culture every 4th turn from the stele. So yeah in culture battles like the one I'll be in here with Moogle its quite useful.

There's definitely partial point culture in cities. I'm not sure about tile culture, I wouldn't be surprised if that gets truncated. I wouldn't say it's a great UB, but it's useful in this game at least.

You have everyone's graphs...why are you saying "someone" has a GNP of 183 and not who it is?

And yeah, building the Stele first looks better. Any culture is vastly better than no culture. It'll protect your inner ring for sure at least. Wouldn't want to lose that forest and have him rush chop it or something, lol.

Oh and can you show us the religion screen?
Reply

Yeah I'll grab the religion screen next.

I say someone because the GNP graph doesn't show this turn and nobody was that high last turn. I have to wait till next turn to see who it was.
