I notice you left the PB host off the list...
[PB16 SPOILERS] SevenSpirits goes off the deep end and finds Krill

Here are my player rankings. They do not include me.
I split players into four tiers. 1 is most likely to win, 4 is least likely. Tier 2 is Vets. If there is a "Vets" game starting up, anyone in this tier could quite reasonably join the game - and that's pretty much how this tier is defined, and a large part of the foundation for defining the other tiers. If one of these players were to join a "greens" game, people would talk about it behind their back and speculate as to their character. I'd guess these make up 30% of players. Tier 4 is Greens. These are new players who have no MP experience, as well as some more experienced players who play more casually or struggle to progress. People in this tier will regularly make micro or macro decisions that are worse than what the AI would do. (Of course, most of their decisions will be better than AI decisions!) If one of these players joins a "vets" game, vets will be annoyed because there's bound to be a random hole in the geopolitical landscape. If a game is composed solely of greens, anyone could win. Greens are hard to predict. I'd guess these make up 40% of players. Tier 1 is Experts. These are players who are a favorite to win any game they join, regardless of who else is in it and regardless of their own or other players' teammate situations. I'd guess these make up 5% of players. Tier 3 is Inbetweeners. These players could join a greens game and people wouldn't complain, but they'd have a good shot at winning. And they could join a vets game and no one would mind, but they'd be fairly unlikely to win. Most inbetweeners are new players who have a lot of enthusiasm, and probably high attention to detail, but lack strategic experience and will end up making some terrible macro blunders for a few more games, on their way to moving up to tier 2. The rest are mostly veteran players who never quite made it. I'd guess these make up 25% of players. Player lists: Tier 1:
Nice list Seven.

t18-19
A bit more scouting. Capital is humming along, growing to size 4. We aren't working ivory until the camp is done, preferring FP instead for the right balance of growth and warriors. Retep has 6h in his next build, having overflowed out of the worker whip.
t20-21
We found the northeast corner of our little world. So there's no immediate threat of another player stealing this land. Retep knows where we are. He moved here last turn, so just for the sake of argument I checked how badly he could mess with us by camping our wheat. It turns out that if he moves onto the wheat, we can produce 6h that turn and finish the warrior. Since we play before him, that means dead scout and we only lose wheat for a turn. I don't expect him to try this, though. |
