LURKERS: 100% against a reload.
1) Precedent has been set in this game that reloads are for technical glitches. If someone logging in caused him to misclick, I'd be ok with it, and that's if he requested it right away.
2) We've eaten a couple significant misclicks in this game for that exact precedent - we had a pretty significant one get shot down. Wasn't quite this big, but I'm going to be very unhappy if we had to eat those and now the precedent gets thrown out just because someone else's mistake carried a little more weight. When you rush crucial moments of turns, significant mistakes happen. I should know.
3) Even if I was willing to flex on #1-2, the fact is that WLP did significant combat (capturing two cities, spawning a great general) AND Plako did significant combat (capturing one city, spawning great general). Rerolling all these is not fair to those 3 players and to general game balance.
I really feel bad for Lewwyn, honestly. But a reload is not feasible/realistic here. I don't want to post this in the IT thread because I don't want to be a dick in a moment where Lewwyn is understandably emotional about this, and I like Lewwyn. But this is not grounds for a reload.

Pindicator - if you're around and reading this, I'd really like your honest opinion here on if I'm being a dick about this. I think I'm right to say what I just said, but I'm willing to admit I'm wrong if you think I am (singling out you specifically since you were around when we ate mistakes).

FWIW, I'm 95% certain this is the misclick:
He had to have intended to move onto the desert tile. THat's the only thing I can think of.
EDIT: FWIW, even if you want to disagree with my points #1-2 above, I think #3 (the time elapsed and the combats) is enough to make a reload a non-starter.

So, I don't think Lewwyn meant to do this on purpose, but I'm really not thrilled that he specifically mentions a 100 unit stack. This means Commodore gets confirmation that Lewwyn 1) still has 100 units and 2) is moving deeper into my land. From what I can see (spy thing, airships, etc), he is considering piling on. Maybe he's made the decision, I dunno. Anyway, that extra bit of information is potentially swaying, and I'm not too thrilled about it.
Nothing that can be done now, just wanted to mention that here.

Totally agree. On the bright side for you (maybe), Commodore and whoever else is now reading about a 100-unit stack that was misclicked.

No, I absolutely agree with this. And I'm just waiting for plako to jump in with the same terse hostility he gave to my reload requests, otherwise I'm going to wonder what I did to piss plako off so much.

You know if you wanted to see what happens if the misclick doesn't occur you have the option of not putting anything on the hill

I cant see the nearby cities and cant tell if the hill tile will be out of your culture even if he do raze your capitol, but if it is the case the fort will stay in your culture, the fort does him no good. Unless of course this is some change in the RB mod.

It's not really about the hill itself, it's more about the difference in time. If Lewwyn approached from the desert tile, he would have the option of moving onto the cow or the hill. For that turn, I probably would have moved a unit or two onto the hill anyway. In that case, he would have ignored the hill and moved onto the cow, leaving him on flat ground (then I would have retreated into the city if he didn't attack the hill). In this case, his choice isn't hill or cow, it's hill or delay the attack by 1T, so his need to attack the hill is far greater than it would have been.
Also, there are a few infantry I have coming from the southwest that will not be able to make it into Trailblazers on time, but would have been able to attack his stack if he placed it on the cow (I may or may not have done this, but I wanted the option). If he places it on the hill, they won't be able to. All that to say, giving up the hill for free would be a significant tactical mistake for me, and I was never going to do it. He never had to move to/attack the hill, his misclick just means that now he has to if he doesn't want to delay by another turn.
Also, I'm still pretty annoyed that Lewwyn broadcasted his 100 unit stack and his moving through my land, and he's still skirting on the edges of sharing information in the IT thread with his most recent post.

Didn't know you can't get benefits from forts outside of your culture, thanks. Can't say I use them too often! Not going to go the fort route here I don't think, but it's a fun idea to think about.

I think you simply dont get no benefits from forts in enemy territory. In neutral you still get the +25% defence and maybe the City Garrison bonus too - not sure about the last one.
