Thanks for the city review and state of game update. And cooperative messaging from Thrawn is good news I guess, at least if you are able to secure a gold island from barbs or Magic in near future. What's the next research target after currency?

Priesthood.

Well if I land Pyramids, the next target has to be Code of Laws for Caste and Courthouses, but I think the pre-req bonus from having Priesthood just about pays itself back on the research. Plus I probably also want a Temple in Kirk to get a 50/50 on the Great Person.

If I don’t get Pyramids, then I probably go for Metal Casting to get some Workshops and Trireme cover for the attack on Magic Science.

On Pyramids, it’s worth noting that as of the Overview, no-one else has Stone hooked. So even the IND civs would only be getting a 2x multiplier verses my 1.75x.

Logged in to pause for Thrawn and received a deluge of diplo from him; I think it boiled down to him having coordinated both Gav & Superdeath to join the war on t115, but I'm not entirely sure.

Also confirmed that Superdeath has completed Currency, so I'll get 2x KTB when I start - which will be the turn after next when the Pyramids are complete and I can get Kirk working all its cottages again.

T107 -

Pyramids completed - Representation adopted. So far I've only hired a single Specialist, but that will increase over time.

I also removed the final Barb from my borders, but the Oromo took 3x Horse Archers with it so that makes up for all the good results on the Maces. Overall I'm still happy not to have to worry about these guys since we have war on the horizon. Of course that does mean I need to accelerate HA generation so the land assault is credible.

Congrats on getting Pyramids. Do you have vision if neighbours have cleared the held barbs in their own lands?

I can't say I've been super paying attention; there are certainly a bunch of barbs still dotted about, but a lot are still outside borders. Or bowmen.

Having said that, part of the reason for aiming for the T115 date to declare on Magic is that if they haven't taken care of their barbs then that will also be a distraction.

T108 - a bit early

So Thrawn apparently declared on Magic last turn so the start of my turn was peppered with diplo. I can only assume the pre-emption was related to the city that Magic planted last turn. It's very unfortunate that it comes the turn after I cleared the Oromo, which I could easily have postponed had I known. As it is, I don't really want to preempt my own timing as sneaking up on the island is my main opportunity and I don't have all the pieces in place.

I'll assess on a turn-by-turn basis, but I think it will be 4-5 turns before I'm ready to move in. I sent back to Thrawn 115, then 113, then 112 to say "look you jumped the gun, I'll try to bring stuff forward OK?"

It's especially unfortunate as it will mean I likely need to start whipping just as I want to concentrate on growing into the stretched happy cap. shakehead

Oh, and a scouting Chariot passed a Superdeath mini-stack of 2HA & Chariot camped out next to a held Samurai (guarding Stone), so for sure not everyone has cleared things out!

Also worth noting that Thrawn played after Magic, which is likely to lead to a 3-way split since I have reliably been the first to play most turns.
