Personally, I like not renaming conquered cities. It's like having a trophy cabinet that way.

Some old favorites of mine:
- "Serenissima," a game of trade (and projecting power) on the Mediterranean during the Italian Renaissance. I've only played four times (once as each faction) but enjoyed it every time.
- "7 Wonders," a mostly-cards-based game in which each player selects a Wonder of the Ancient World and competes economically and militarily to bring their wonder/city the greatest glory.
- "Guillotine," a card game in which players compete to collect the heads of the most (and most-valuable) figures from the French Revolution.
- "Fluxx," a card game whose rules (how many cards you draw, play, and can hold in your hand each turn, even the object of the game itself) are changed by the cards as they are played.
- "Set," an incredibly (deceptively) simple pattern-recognition card game which is terrific for family play because even fairly small kids and adults are on basically an equal playing field with a game that's (actually) fun for both.
- "Fireball Island," which is emphatically not a good game, but you get to roll red marbles down a 3-D plastic map and knock other player's explorer pawns down, so as kids, my brothers and I (briefly) loved it!
[EDIT: Crossposted with Zed, whose list overlaps a bit with mine!]

Thanks for all the suggestions! Is it awful that I haven't heard of half of those? Though I did get to play Dixit for the first time on Thanksgiving; that was a fun game! Will definitely use that.

I see this, and I don't like to rename while a city is in contention. But Bing is going to be gone / irrelevant soon and as you can see there are lots of board games yet to go.
Krill - I'm going to vote no on Twister, but I see how it's a grey area.

Bing sent everything in, and we held.
Losing only an archer in Cory and a spear out in the field, Bing lost everything else. Superdeath then came through and took out the stack at Vilcos, capturing the city for himself. Bing is done, practically done if not officially. I will do my best to let him linger. (Going to need that city raze cash.)
As long as Superdeath sticks to Vilcos and Huamanga we will get along swimmingly. Unfortunately I do not think Mjmd has any plans to be a good neighbor.
I suppose it is too much to hope that he would go for a peaceful border; now it looks like he is going to lay down a road with those workers and then settle on Bing's ruins where he'll take the crabs away from Machu Picchu. I suppose he could do worse and try to block the wheat from Cory (now renamed Dixit).
But I also cannot trust those chariots; they are going to run through Bing's cores and pillage everything they can get their hands on. So I am going to have to pillage everything in range of his units first. Ugh, this is really going to ruin what tenuous peace we've been holding onto here, isn't it? Oh, and I'm sure that galley either has units on it or will shortly.
Speaking of pillaging, we need to raise some cash. Let's start with Ollantaytambo:
With only a spear and an axe left for Bing, I'm going to bring up my scant horse archer force and try to burn the city in 2-3 turns. No way am I keeping that one.
Then we implemented the Pillage Plan. It goes a bit like this: - Pillage all Cottages, but leave all Hamlets and higher that are first ring to a captured city
- Pillage everything in range of Mjmd's chariot. (Had to settle for everything west of the river.)
- Don't pillage anything by Vilcos, so as not to piss off Superdeath
- Pillage anything that workers can replace in a turn.
- Just generally pillage everything that can be replaced and won't piss someone else off, except for Mjmd because he's going to do it anyway.
It went something like this:
144g from pillaging plus the 167g from Ollan falling and I felt better about my research situation. Good enough to switch back to Metal Casting and actually start forges before courthouses as I was originally want to do now that I have the funds for both techs (and probably a bit more).
Overview shot, now that the war is on its last turns:
Dixit came out of revolt this turn, and I crunched some numbers on the fastest way to pop its borders without using a missionary. And so we're goign to build a library using the 20h overflow from the dry archer whip, along with chopping the last forest within Dixit's borders. (Quick note on infrastructure: every single city came with its granary, and all the coastal ones kept their lighthouse.)
I have 2 missionaries currently in production: Dominion & Azul, both cities are 2 turns out from finishing. Everywhere else is building a Longbow:
Except Puerto Rico. I swapped that one to finish the Lighthouse that was 1 turn away from completion anyway. Next turn it grows to size 4 and I'm probably going to keep working the grass hill mines and not the coast, and probably get another missionary out of there. Another option: work Wealth for a turn and then spill out some triremes because Cornflakes has those too.
Oh, and I did take the time to finish Moai at Libertalia
Really could build the triremes there too but we need longbows. Really want to have 4 longbows in the area for when my peace with Cornflakes is up. With that in mind, I did whip longbows at Catan and Clank!
Anything else? Most units are finishing in 2 turns, so we'll start the forges next, and then courthouses after. I'd like to have about 20-30 turns to recover. But now I'm wondering if I should be attacking Mjmd while he's in his golden age.... Probably not any time soon.

Congratulations on a successful campaign! And it seems good to prop Superdeath up a bit by giving him those 2 captures (assuming he remains a good neighbor in that regard) to counterbalance Cornflakes a bit more effectively. Longbows do seem to be in order, though given your (still high) power I’d imagine most other players should be more tempted to take a crack at Suckatciv rather than come after you.

I don't know. If him constantly missing turns and delaying the game coupled with just how weak he is hasn't gotten them off their asses, I'm not sure what is ever going to. At this rate I'm going to be the one to conquer SaC

SD is untrustworthy.
One more dead neighbour and game is over. Which neighbour should that be?
