[NO PLAYERS] PB25 Lurker Thread - Then Happy I, That Lurk and am Belurked

Libbing steal is the right play for safety purposes when Tasunke is playing how he is. As much as Com does play a story he isn't screwing around this time.

What is the process for concession In This game any way? Ask Donovan and gavagai if they concede? Retep has and TASUNKE needs ejection for his actions anyway.

Depending on how many other cats Com/dtay have I may have preferred to keep those 13 cats in the HAK invasion stack around for the additional four turns it seems it will take to get them upgraded to cannons and THEN smash them in HAK's face where he will get to keep a lot of them for subsequent use. The only thing is it looks like Com/dtay will use up most if not all of their gold finishing Chemistry. I'm assuming they have Liberalism finished close enough to save some gold that turn and that they have a number of cats --> cannons finishing that turn too so it won't be long until they get a decent cannon stack soon.

Have they settled any GG? Or are they in Theocracy or Feudalism? CRII cannons at this point in the game are going to be impossible to stop.

They wouldn't even need to upgrade them, assuming they have enough. 20 cannons and 12 cats will shred a stack of LKs, Maces, and Muskets just as well as 32 cannons would.

I'm guessing that the real motivation for their attack now is just force HAK into another 10T treaty and then hit retep.

There's no need to hit retep. Cannons into HAK and the game is pretty much over.

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

It doesn't even make any sense, since retep is his safe border right now and he has ample hostile ones to keep him occupied.

Yeah, just murder HAK and stop him being able to tech units that can fight cannons (ie getting Cuirs). HAK lost his SoD so just keep on pushing him to the end fo hte continent and kill him slowly with rolling stacks of death. HAK should have seen that coming when he stole Taj but left himself in a tech hole, it was the obvious play for Commodore.

Cannons are hardly an I-win button. Just hit them with a good stack of cats, knights, muskets and maces and they'll fold. They do shift the hammer trade a bit further in your favor but not to the same extent as they do on the offense. The hills in front of Hungry might force HAK to give up that city though before he can take them on flat ground. Depends on HAK's motivation and unit numbers after the Gavagai war. Though he is still top power by ~25%, so those troops must be somewhere.

No, they aren't an I-win button in all cases, and if HAK had played differently they wouldn't be. But in this specific case, where HAK attacked Gavagai and frankly wasted units, time and resources, they're going to be the I-Win button.

Nah, Commodore's not playing for the optimum attack on the civ, he's playing for the optimum attack on the player. He's (correctly) guessed that HAK is at a psychological low point after the losses on the Gavagai front and figures that driving the sword in now will tip him over the edge into a concession, whereas waiting 5t may give Mindy time to rally HAK / snap him out of his funk and he'd fight on longer and harder.

Of course he doesn't know that Gavagai is about to get dogpiled and thus free up / soften some of HAK's missteps over there.

Plus who the hell knows what Tasunke is going to do; that boy crazy! crazyeye
