Anyone have the v1.52 patch?

In any case, there is unlikely to ever be a .ZIP distribution again as long as there's someone around ready and willing to exercise copy rights. If I ever get around to writing a patcher, it will be a 16-bit executable that runs in DOSBox. That's the only way I can ensure that it runs on everything that the game itself runs on.

No, I'm not low on disk space, I just didn't know whether the rest files have any impact on Classic installation (by overwritten its files) and its work or not. So I chose the safest way to get a 1.52 folder ready to copy over Classic MoM just as it was with 1.50 and 1.51.

What harm would it be for someone's copyrights if legitimate owners of the game would have a separate ZIP download in their GOG libraries just as they can have 1.50 and 1.51 when these patches were freeware (well, 1.50 and 1.51 were not in their GOG libraries but you got the idea)? No one safe aforementioned owners would have an access to this ZIP, and no one's copyrights would be infringed.

The answer is that no one really cares about it. We got the rights, we gave you our idiotic launcher that works on new systems, so shut up and eat it. But why then to keep Classic installer still available in libraries of those who were (un)lucky to purchase MoM earlier than mighty Slitherine got the rights? I think that someone in GOG staff still understands that Classic installer may be in demand for a certain category of customers. Thank God their staff still has such brilliant minds. So why these customers are treated like shit by Slitherine? The answer is again - because no one cares. There's no freedom of choice anymore. Just install the f***ing Windows 10, get the wiiiiiidescreeeeen monitor and be happy. You want patch? Our launcher gives you everything you want! 1.31, 1.52, CoM - what do you want else? What is your major malfunction, numbnuts?

Oh, I see what you mean now. You know what? I may actually be able to do something about that. I will most certainly try! Even if for no other reason than to contradict you <3

You are a holy man. If it could be done somehow, I would not care for what reasons it was done, trust me.

Why do all other games on GOG have separate patches on appropriate games' pages in Library, and MoM does not? These patches appear there as they come out, and old ones don't disappear when new ones are released. What loss Slitherine would get if a legitimate MoM owner would see 1.52.01, 1.52.02, 1.52.03 etc ZIPs when open MoM page in one's GOG library? (well, in MoM case it would be sufficient to have the last patch iteration only available as it contains all the previous changes).

Time for some necromancy. I think I have a partial solution for you all. I figured I'll share it before I start working on the final third of this project, mainly because there are still a few kinks to work out and a bit of help that I could do with. Here:

MOMDIFFP.ZIP

Inside the archive is a 32-bit windows executable that can, in theory, convert between any of the following versions: 1.01, 1.10, 1.20, 1.30, 1.31, 1.40n, 1.50, 1.51, and 1.52.03. Note that text files (readme's, change logs, individual patches, etc.) are not included, and probably never will be. I understand that's not all I promised yet, and I will still make a 16-bit DOS version of this. However, in the meantime, I have some requests to make. First, my Simtex version files (1.01-1.30) are a bit of a jumble. While the executables are certainly the correct ones, I'm not entirely sure about the rest. If someone finds something in the wrong place, I'd like to know about it. Second, as evidenced from the list above, I'm down one v1.00. If you have it, I want it. Please share (in private). Third, my v1.31 is based on Slitherine's. There's a slim, yet non-zero chance that some of the files are not byte-identical to the Simtex (or GoG classic) ones. If that's the case, then the patcher will not work on those files, which means I'll need those shared (again, in private) if I am to resolve the problem. Finally, I'm kind of curious whether the patcher runs on WinXP or not. Eventually, I'll probably get around to trying it myself, but it hasn't happened yet.

DISCLAIMER: No original files are present in the patcher. It is structured in a a way somewhat similar to a self-extracting archive, but it is most certainly not one. No more than 10% of scrambled data from any given copyrighted file is possible to recover from the executable, even if one were to reverse-engineer my work and write a dedicated de-compiler.

PS: Oh, I almost forgot. There may also be bugs in the patcher. If you find any, please let me know, so I can fix them.
