If we kick off before my return, I will need the mod emailed to me please

I had that when using Chrome - it's the safety features overriding choice.

I had to use Edge <shudder> to get the option to download anyway.

I'll email it, once people have stopped finding bugs in the mod.

I rolled a few maps and 70% water more times than not spawned the advanced start areas touching (way too close), not enough land. 60% water looked fine.

My proposed settings would be:
Size: standard
Landmass: 60% water
Aridity: normal
Mountains: normal
Grassland: slight
Axial tilt: none
Resources: balanced

Landmass: Earth-like
Aridity: Wet
Mountains: Slight
Grassland: Slight
Resources: Balanced

Gives somewhat Earth-like continents with interesting mountain chains and quite a lot of land per player.

Just following along, but wanted to make a couple observations:
1) The "Tiltless" mapscript I posted is just Tectonics with a few extra options (grassland, mountains, tilt, and balanced strategics).
2) "Axial tilt" set to "none" as in the list Cornflakes posted means the northern and southern desert bands are pushed together into the center instead. This is fine, but just to note it isn't the "normal" option but the modified one. (The option exists mainly because pin wanted a desert interior for his Australia-like pangea-style map in PB65.)
3) "Balanced" strategics uses the game's inbuilt process for this, as used on more-normal mapscripts. As on those map types, and as noted above, its idea of balance ignores the difficulty of getting to resources as long as they're physically close.

I'm happy to roll a map when wanted, and to check it if that's desired (as I think Commodore suggested) - but I'll need to know what I'm checking for if so (as well as what the consensus is on settings). Make sure strategics are actually accessible instead of locked behind ice? Make sure everyone has land oil? (The game's balance process thinks sea oil is just as good.) Make sure nobody's stuck on a ten-tile island nor isolated from everyone else until astro? I want to make sure I don't do too little or too much!

Enhanced mountains and wet sound good to me. I edited map settings into the first post.

This sounds good to me as well. I’d say make sure land oil and the other later strategic are balanced as well. Personally I don’t mind unequal access to stone/marble.

Sounds good Ref. What else do you need to get this out?
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.

Just confirmation that there's a consensus for the settings (the first post in the thread looks at least partly out of date). Then e-mail addresses for turn 0 because as far as I know, a sequential advanced start pitboss with our current set-up still requires this:

2) Start a new PBEM with the WBSave and choose Advanced Start.

3) Everyone plays T0 in Advanced Start. They write down every purchase made and show a screenshot at end of turn.

4) I (or whoever) take the original wbsave and manually edit in the selections you made in the PBEM

5) I start a new PB from scratch with the edited wbsave and send T0 to Zulan.

Effectively you would play a dummy turn via PBEM, and a "mapmaker" would simply give you the things you spent points on.

Someone who can get a modded PB game running, and from whom Zulan knows it's cool to accept and post a Pitboss save would have to do step 5 when we get there. (In the past this has always been scooter - I've never corresponded directly with Zulan myself - but I'll see what I can do if he's not around.

I think first post is up to date except for mod version which will be the latest bug fix version when the game is launched.
