Wow, sorry to hear about your family difficulties and other setbacks. We're glad to have you back with us, though. I hope things go better for you through the holiday season.
Zed proposed an Imperium game a couple weeks back. I'm not sure what happened with it. He had the green light, so I thought it would be started by now. It seems that MOO1 has turned up a few cracks and flaws in this environment that weren't readily available in a less scrutinized, less exposed situation.
Gah! Whodathunkit. Still lacking a way to control the Negative Fleet bug is one big problem, and some of the diplomatic elements have disappointed me, too, in seeing how more dilligent and determined players than I have been able to wring consistency out of ability to divide and conquer enemies via diplomatic chaos.
Really, though, for me, the biggest problem has been inability to get MOO1 working again on my main computer since having had to upgrade MS Internet Explorer to version 6. That was not a move I could avoid, and after severe neck aches and eye strain when using my old Pentium 1 in the other room to play (and playtest) MOO1 games, I may have to consider backing off my commitment to this game. I've already ended up doing that de facto, but I do still love the game, so it's been a difficult thing to admit.
With Zed's Imperium proposal, and with the SG that you ran, MM, I thought we might see a revival being led by you guys, which I could support. Still a chance for that, but the chance may be shrinking.
I wish you the best with this next SG.
