I don't think any ManU fan holds anything against Barca, they are simply a brilliant team. Only other problem though is you aren't naming them after ManC or Liverpool players.

So is that the equivalent of being, say, a Cleveland spots fan in the U.S. [Image: mischief.gif]?

No, its the rough equivalent of being a fan of the Akron Aeros but not liking any major league teams, but only if the Akron Aeros had once been part of the major leagues and then got sent down a couple of levels, but also had the (very) faint hope that through strong management and luck they could someday be in the major leagues again.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

No idea who the Akron Aeros are, but the description is bang on the money. Talking of which, it is serious amounts of money, along with strong management and luck, that would drive a push to the top divisions.

There are many layers of humor in this reference smile. Baseball in the U.S. has a tiered system. The only one that matters is the major leagues. After that its called minor leagues, with AAA being the "best" followed by AA and A. The Akron Aeros are a AA team. Unlike the football league system in England, teams can't go up or down. All minor league teams are associated with a major league team, and their existence is to train players for the majors.

The funny thing with Akron is that that its where Lebron James is from. Cleveland is Loserville in U.S. sports, they never, ever win. Lebron James is the world's best basketball player and he left Cleveland (rego's team) to take his talents to Miami (my team). I enjoy bringing this up with rego, perhaps Gaspar was aware of this? In any case, using Akron as the minor league example was apropos nod. Apparently rego is doing his best to ignore this entire conversation, but rest assured he's aware of it.
