Well, listening to Darrell looks like I made the right choice taking PRO/Inca. Still a nice "You can't screw me" combo.

Tbh I like the fact that henge is often a really good build. The reason being that you have to divert resources away from Settlers/Workers in the early game to get it. Often henge isn't considered just for the border pops but for the GP points.

Well, for us it is second best: Oracle to Feud only needs 4 techs (Med, ph, Writing, Monarchy), plus whatever economic techs are deemed essential prior to the wonder build.

I was wondering though: Isn't it going to be kind of hard to get Monarchy before the Oracle is built by someone else, unless nobody else goes for it?

Depends on the tech path that gets taken. If I can skip 3-4 ancient era techs, out of Mining, BW, Fishing, Sailing, Hunting, AH, Wheel, Pottery, Archery, I think I can get there fast due to FIN.

Won't you need BW to chop out the Oracle and other stuff? It doesn't really seem like it'd be a skippable tech...

Eh, you say that...but it's been done before. And with nerfed slavery, who gives a damn. You can build the Oracle while teching Writing/Monarchy, so you don't even need to chop.

Eh...I guess with nerfed Slavery it's more skippable, though forest chops are the new Slavery and they're at BW too, or so I think.
Either way, I can already see this is going to be an interesting game considering what we're already discussing. Gotta keep a close eye on this one

Not really, forest chops were always there, and exactly the same as before. They're not new or anything, and are a hell of a lot harder to MM into something worthwhile on quick that you realise, if you are slaving. If you aren't slaving, and instead leaving the capital at size 5 working good tiles 1 chop = 1 turn of production at most, but cost you in worker turns so you have to build the worker earlier just to get the forest chops. In other words you end up investing in workers early to cash in forest chops so you can get workers and a clear cut land earlier. A lot of the time mass deforestation isn't the best move you can make.
