Variant pbem map looking for 5 players

Map is almost done. I want to get feedback on it and the starting bonuses. Then I'll post them and a screenshot of the starting position and you can pick. I'm still deciding how we should do the pick.

I was going to suggest everyone just picks secretly and duplicates are duplicates... However, with a unique style like this, it'd be more interesting to have 5 combinations. Perhaps we all come up with a ranked list of our top 3 choices and PM them to SevenSpirits who then assigns combinations?

Seems like a good idea, the FFH method.

I'd rather not do that "top 3 chocies"-method tbh. Got burned by that method already once (Sheaim, FFH 5). If two want Pacal of Inca despite it having no techs to start with then simply roll a dice - no difference then sending in your choices for the one who wins but at least the loser has time to reevaluate.

That's fine, we can always adjust it to fit that. Hopefully we'll all just pick different combinations and that'll solve everything.

So myself[/DazedRoyalty] Commodore[/Mist], Lewwyn, Serdoa, Brian Shanahan makes 5.

Seems like it. I also heard a very reserved expression of interest from Krill; if you or anyone else wants to join I'm leaving it up to you and the players to work out if anyone wants to combine with anyone else, or whatever. (The map is definitely for exactly 5 players.)

Map and rules are ready for peer review. I PMed T-hawk, once we get a forum up I will post a lurker thread and welcome any feedback. Fair warning though, it's going to be impossible to make any two people feel that it's evenly balanced, and that isn't necessary for this to be a fun and interesting setup anyway. I've already heard some amusingly contradictory viewpoints based on the example bonuses. So most likely I will be acting on any given person's feedback less than they would hope or expect.

Player 5 1st pick
Player 4 1st pick
Player 3 1st pick
Player 2 1st pick
Player 1 1st pick
Player 5 2nd pick
Player 4 2nd pick
Player 3 2nd pick
Player 2 2nd pick
Player 1 2nd pick

Any objections? If this is acceptable, we'll need to get the player order sorted out now.
