Not to completely derail the thread, but I visited Baltimore for the first time a month ago and was surprised at how much I liked the city. Especially when you consider that you would be applying for what might be a highly rewarding job, I don't see the downside. From what I understand about the game industry, you'll probably be in the office so much that it doesn't matter anyway.

We could all offer to be testers. Many of us (myself perhaps excluded) have the expertise, and some of us have done it before!

If the world was just, every Early Access game would die in a fire ![smoke smoke](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smoke.gif)
Game companies should sell games, not promises.

^ What he said. The quote Krill posted is like a cornucopia of red flags & abusive business practices. Stardock is hardly better than EA or Ubisoft.

Same here. I have a lot of faith in Soren to design an awesome game and am very excited to try it out, but I also remember what Civ4 was like at launch, what with the extreme memory leaks and lockups, and am more than happy to wait until the game's code stabilizes a bit!

I for one can't wait to see how it turns out. I am atypical, in that I've always preferred development over war in Civ.

This isn't going to be the game from the alternate universe where Soren was given total creative control over Civ 5, sadly. But... there was something about the game M.U.L.E. from the 80s that has never been replicated and was quite awesome, so I can get excited about a spiritual successor for sure.
