Maybe worth considering Settler>Builder, instead of Builder>Settler, given the awesomeness of that second site?

Shouldn't be a big wonder game, but would be nice to figure out a way to get Petra humming on all those desert hills...

That is an excellent suggestion, I'll definitely consider it when I have the save again. Depends on how many turns I have before I'm forced into Craftmanship research.

Petra is also a cool idea, but Mathematics is often the last Classical tech you want to pick up, the boost is hard (3 different districts) and the unit techs (like Horseback Riding, Iron Working and Machinery) are much more critical in PVP. Maybe it'll be an easier detour on an islands map though.

Well, with 2 stones to harvest and 2 forests to chop, you could be opportunistic about Petra--see if it's still out there by the time you're ready for Math, and bang it out quickly in City 2 if you decide to go for it.

By my count, you'd get (at least) 7 supercharged desert tiles, including an oasis and 2 resources--not too shabby.

The downside is City 2 already has plenty of nice tiles to work, so some could be wasted. Maybe you'll get lucky with some choppable/harvestable resources in the north that would allow you settle NW or NE of the oasis, and put it in that city.

But if we figured out a way over that hurdle, then yeah, I could do it.

Game-related question: Have you been score tracking? Any developments in that regard?

Nothing major that jumps out in terms of score yet, don't have the numbers memorised sorry.

On the sub-question: how it works is I give you my Steam info, at which point you can download R&F temporarily since I do have it. So that resolves itself. We need to set it up a day early or so as I need to give you a security code send to the email tied to Steam (which I'm not giving away, not that I don't trust you but...). You do know how the PYDT client works? Otherwise you might want to familiarise yourself with it beforehand.

Okay, should be workable then. Never used PYDT, but plenty of time still to deal with all the logistics.

I'll only have a pretty narrow window in which to play (16:00-18:00 UTC) so feel free to keep searching for someone more ideal in that regard, if that will mess up the usual rhythm. But otherwise, I'm onboard
