Quote:Ragnar of the Zulu might be better, but this is a scary scary thing folks. Theorycrafting about swords is all well and good, but having base strength 8 units at the dirt cheap 40 hammer cost is bad enough, but C2 makes those 9.6, something that I can’t even see wanting to push knights in towards. Ragnar’s Financial goodness will be “good enough” to handle the rest. Despite the pick only costing a total of 4 points, this actually might be the second best pick, certainly top three.

Wasn't the old meta consensus that BtS Rome starts too slowly?
It's not a great starter, but Emperor doesn't want Joao speeds anyway. Or ever Sury speeds...

Hai Donovan Zoi. Could be better, could be worse, neighbor-wise.

I'm sure we'll need Agriculture for the push eastward. Wet rice, woop woop.

Plenty of food, I'd be sad about the lack of early happy if we weren't Charismatic.

You got it. We're on the Western Hemisphere.

Looks like some of our rivals are inland, by the way.

It's very difficult, but it can be done. Only time I've seen it happen is in SP on the Earth 18 map. Wonderspam as France and there is a decent chance to flip London.
