You missed something: What civc do I research? FT and plough on through to PP?
[PBEM22] Friends with Benefits

Should I swap to Agoge for a single turn and put Adabs production into a unit, and then swap back to Discipline next turn? The delay is a single turn into the builder, but the benefit may be immesurable if Woden tuns up from teh west.
I've played the turn and there is a bit to update, but Woden has his RND down, so I reckon he beat me either by a turn or by turn order to CN. So Banzai went for Writing?
I just need to do a few household chores and then I'll write the update so probably be 45 minutes to posting.
God I keep on fucking that up. I keep on thinking that Chev has Phoenica and have to correct myself there to. Sorry.
Regarding the era score, one of the forum rules is to phrase a games mechanic understanding as a question and ask for lurker confirmation if this is correct and raise it as a bug if the actual game behaviour is wrong, and better to do this now than in the future.
We can raise it as a potential bug with teh lurkers privately if you want, that's never been an issue before AFAIK.
+3 era score for the Harbour, gold up to +12, next turn it hits +16 and then the final harbour pushes to +18. Knock on effect as described. Now at 3 civics, 4 civics next turn with FT. 4 techs (so it's the 4 civics which influences the chop value right?) Of value for this turn only but can swap again next turn. Thanks for covering Adab. I just missed the barb camp south of Volantis. So many barb camps to clear, this is the other reason for wanting a warrior or two for when Shipbuilding is finished. I think Chev didn't realise just how close to taking the city you were and then each turn his understanding has grown and now they are trying to build a new strategy to manage the situation. I wonder what their response will be, partly because I wonder if the response will be to stop building any settlers and not rush to capture other CS because they try to cover what they have? Or do they try to now cover their CS and we can catch them between a rock and a hard place, rather than woprry about defending AbtS? So, for me to get this through my thick skull: Woden is Gaul. He built a Campus and now one is competing with him for Euclid. Banzai is England and just finished an RND, got his free galley (to keep in mind when we meet him to judge his growth), so he would be odds on to grab Artemesia whom we don't want, but unless he gets his second RND in the next 15 turns or so I might accidently beat him to her. Woops. Ljub is Japan and he built his HS and got the first religion, taking Crusade and FtW, so us rushing his partner and forcing him to churn out galleys is screwing up his own gameplan (OTOH, if he spreads the religion into Portuguese cities then that is something to look out for, but that is like Tyler Durden holding a gun against his own head). Chev is plodding along with his own lovely coastal HS, and just lost out on his perfect CS companion to us and now has to defend not just his cities but also his HS from us? Fuck, Thrawn, we know where his cities are, why not try to pillage a HS or two? He will not have the land units to hold them! Another reason to "Pre-emptively" declare war.
is there a civ 6 combat calculator anywhere, and a table of the chop/resource harvest values based on tech.civic progress?

Thrawn Wrote:A land unit for camp clears is more important than a galley right? Well the resource pillage yields are shared regardless of alliance status, so the more we expect to pillage, the greater the desire for both exists. At Portugal, if I can have Mogadishu, the pillage yields could be shared via war cart, but at Chev a warrior will take ages to get there and is a target. Not saying a galley would be quicker but getting a boat there would help not just for XP but also for any potential beakers, old or even faith that we can scrounge. Quote:Going to their core to look for pillages would open me to an ambush and leave the city less defendable. Longships are strong but I have only a few and will need the advantage of position if they throw everything they have at me. I agree about holding choke points but isn't that the joy of longships from the ocean poking where they shouldn't be, once the numbers are up? |
