Why that specifically? There are other ways to invalidate Balclutha’s location if he trades for Outside so it can keep growing culture.

Cornflakes burned Outside - i need to remember he has Engineering - and so I burned Balclutha
With that done I offered Mjmd white peace.
I can see Mjmd is pushing everything east to go up against Cornflakes' stack on his doorstep:
Multiple cities on our border are empty. Hopefully he realizes we hit the weakest and not the one with MoM in it.
Settlers finished and are coming north. I am going to want a couple more Longbows out of Gloomhaven to put in this city too.

Mjmd didn't take the peace and he didn't make any kind of counter offer. That's distressing, but now we have to commit to the war a bit more. But we are also resettling the lands that were just burned:
Either can settle in place or move to the spot Krill picked out next turn. Have a few units to move in the area, but I've moved our main stack southward to threaten Mjmd's cities and hopefully push him to take a peace deal. But I did not offer one this turn; I may next turn depending on what happens. I'm sure he thinks I'm throwing the game for Cornflakes, but I'm not convinced Cornflakes is the long-term threat... (Watch Superdeath kill us all with Cataphracts.) I'm hoping he realizes that if I wanted to burn him I would be pushing into his territory and not keeping my stuff picking around the edges.
Finally got religion to the last of the conquered Bing cities, but I'm going to have Gloomhaven push out Longbows for a time now to get defenders in the north. There really are never enough units.

Right now do you want to defend and pay for two new cities, or just the one?
Also is SDs power spiking yet?

I'm still trying to get courthouses and forges built, I don't want to push into Mjmd. And I certainly want that done before Superdeath gets Catas.

Mjmd might crumble even if we don't push against him.
He lost the battle and the city and I have to imagine that he has no army after this. I haven't seen him whipping, which is rather amazing. Now I wonder if the reason he didn't give peace is because he doesn't want Cornflakes to get everything and he knows he can't hold him back. That may be a stretch, but I'm trying to understand why Mjmd wouldn't want peace with us. I pretty much kept put and offered a cease fire to him - but we could try to move our units in and really take him / cripple him if we thought that was in our interest.
Our army is paper thin: all catapults and very few hitters.
Meanwhile Superdeath has indiecated he will attack Cornflakes on t154. Do we want to signal back our intention to join him? We are so painfully behind in tech; if we get the great merchant I might end up cashing it in just so we can get to Machinery.
