I thought it might be fun to name all of the awards and add a few more. As someone who's lurked pretty comprehensively, I democratically wink elected myself for this duty.

Hey, that's a straight copy/paste from the PB7 forum.

While I was testing to find the ikhanda bug last night I played through a game as a OCC looking for other oddities. I didn't really find anything else broken (though testing as a cheaty OCC doesn't cover every situation). One thing that I noticed was that the pace of random events was very rapid. I got one it seemed every few turns. I don't know how many fewer events I would have received if I didn't have all the tech tree cleared from T0, if any fewer, but the pace was probably too high given that the rewards are all useful now. Individually nothing was game breaking but in the aggregate the events will considerably alter gameplay if the pace is that fast in a regular game with normal research unlocking the stronger events era by era. I probably won't have time to play through a regular single player game to get a feel for event pacing under normal research circumstances in the next few days, though. Maybe someone else can take a look?

vean Wrote:how can I change this value in mod?

There is a chance of 1%/2%/4%/4%/6%/8%/10% per turn for any event to occur (era specific Ancient/Classical/Medieval/Renaissance/Industrial/Modern/Future).

It's to low to me in quick, normal and epic games. Perhaps it should be changed by speed.

ori Wrote:You cannot easily change it by speed, but if you want to adjust the values for the eras you can just open ...\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Assets\XML\GameInfo\CIV4EraInfos.xml using any text editor and change the values within the <iEventChancePerTurn></iEventChancePerTurn> tags for each era.

If you gave yourself all of the tech,s the odds of an event occurring is 10% per turn, but it increases through the game and is era dependent. I think the numbers look OK, the changes to Events should not increase their occurrance above what occurs in a normal base BtS game with events left on.

We have a problem when it comes to the map trading funtion however. As I'm sure most people are aware, map trading has been commandeered as a function of the known tech bonus; if I were to just remove it in the XML, then there would be 0 known tech bonus in the entire game. This has been done in the DLL, so I don't have any method of changing anything. There is a way to solve this problem, which is novices suggestion as a method of implementing a hidden resource to provide the known tech bonus. If that is implemented (and it requires DLL work) then I can just edit the XML to remove map trading from the game and there shouldn't be a problem, but otherwise, kinda need ideas.

Forgive my ignorance, but why can't you have 5 sets on 'enables tech trading' in lieu of map trading at those techs?
