[No players] Big epic lurking - PB74

Im with Yuri. I’m against reloads for mistakes, whether strategic or mechanical. It’s all part of your play.
There is no way to peace. Peace is the way.

I'd say no to a reload as well.

I don't know where we draw the line on soliciting opinions verses acting so as not to delay the game - also who makes that decision? I do think the sentiment at this point is in the same direction on both the player and lurker side, and I am about to go into meetings so I posted in the main thread.

I have to admit I had an arbitrary cutoff in my head (of about 1hr from now, but doubt much would have changed), but yes I agree with your tech thread post.

At this point I think am going to stop lurking the game so if I'm needed to euthanize a civ I can do that, Plemo included.

I was only in favour of the PB76 reload due to it happening so early and with such a small player count, neither applies here. The player motivation/morale impact and risk of the game ending in frustration is going to be way worse granting the reload than denying it in this case.

AFAIK PB76 was unanimous among the players that Pindicator should be allowed to fix his mistake. But Pindicator hadn't repeatedly delayed the game by asking for turn timer extensions so he could run sims.

In any case, I think this is a matter for the people who are playing the game to decide amongst themselves. Lurkers opinions on whether or not the re-laod should be granted are irrelevant.

While players (specifically opponents affected) saying they are ok with reloads is one thing, saying all reload requests are up to players is insane. They just don't have the information most times. They also are biased even if they try not to be. Almost all reload requests I've seen have been decided by lurkers.

For the record:

If I am playing in a game the Lurkers do not get a say in a reload or any other game related matter unless specifically asked to do so by the people who are playing the game in a vote in the Tech Thread.

I did not feel strongly enough to argue against it in the tech thread, but did post privately that I was against

I do like Scooter's idea of allowing one reload per X turns (where X is sufficiently large), and letting players decide themselves if the mistake is significant enough to warrant using that allowance
