And email to ioan / mackoti
Quote:Hi ioan / mackoti!
Just thought I would drop in and say hi again. For some reason my work network doesn't like my Yahoo messenger, so that's why I'm not showing up as available during the daytime (my time). I'm not sure what's going on with that but if you want to get a hold of me, maybe you could create an AOL or Google IM account? If not, that's okay, we can catch up on weekends or evenings for me (though that gets pretty late for you I know)
So after complaining for many turns about how we hadn't met anybody, we have been meeting tons of civs lately! We have now met everyone except luddite, Lord Parkin and plako. Oddly enough, those are the top 3 civs in score.
So you apparently took the "east" fork after heading south from us - we have taken the "west" fork, though our scouting unit is a warrior so he's slower than your scout. We did meet WarriorKnight's exploring warrior but have not met anyone else - have you?
So what do you think about this map? Have you been able to figure it out at all?
Anyways, hope to hear from you soon. I should be online sometime after 2pm my time (7pm GMT) today

We do seem to be travaling in packs around here, and iirc you are wanting to find plako, keep heading SE and you should see his scout soon - it is also in the area
I am happy to disscuss anything tbh - if you can catch me on GChat it would be best (GMT evnings mostly) or Email is fine. as for the peak tiles - i know!!, they are evrywhere!!. hopefully once i have more map infomation it will make some more sence - but i wouldnt put it past people to have placed them for the pure reason to create conflict Zones and make us use navys in the limited water. As for the plako war - who knows, i think that will be somthing to look forward to once we are allowed into the lurker thread.
If you are willing, i would like directions to WarriorKnight, if its any help iirc at this end, if you head SE you will get to me and then it goes Me (Head East) Locke (Head East) Nakor (Head North East) Plako. im not 100% but it should give you an idea.
Anyway, it is good to meet you - i hope we will get on well in this game (i doubt you will remain last-place-ia for long ) and look forward to future corrispondance.
Kind Regards,
Adlain

Turn has flipped to T57 and still no TGL but we do have Hinduism founded. That's probably for the best since it means that I don't feel any pressure to go for it.
With CivStats down, C&D becomes even MORE difficult, but the teams that got a tech this turn are
* Luddite
* Nakor
* Mackoti
Nakor's Spiritual, so if it was him, I'd expect him to revolt this turn.

Bill continues chopping, and Reading will grow to size 2 next turn, allowing us to work the gold tile again and improving commerce.
Wheel in 2, and then probably Mysticism -> Pottery -> Animal Husbandry

Overview of our cities, showing proximity to SleepingMoogle's borders
Also our potential 3rd city (Montgomery) listed. I think we do need to keep settling this direction.

Quote:Greetings again from (still) Last-place-ia, though you are correct that it is at least my hope that we will not be in last-place-ia the WHOLE game! But it sure is getting lonely down here :-)
Thank you for the tip on plako's scout - Chuck the warrior is heading in a somewhat southeasterly direction. If you wouldn't mind passing on to plako that he is currently (having already moved on T57) on a grassland tile 1E of a coastal peak tile, that would be great. If you have visibility on that tile and can provide even more detailed directions that would be even better. If you can pass on any directions he'd like us to go, that would also be nice.
I think you're right about the reasoning for peak tiles - just a way for more people to be "neighbors" without having to REALLY be neighbors.
Hopefully you'll be able to catch me on chat later today - I should be around off and on for the next several hours

Quote:Don't count us out for last place yet! I'm sure you guys have a plan to keep teching once your economy crashed. Don't know if we'll be that fortunate...
Regarding the Plako-WarlordD/WK war, Plako asked us not to tell others about it and since he is our very big and close neighbour, it seems most wise to agree with him. That extra city really helped him a lot and he is a good player...
We need to meet Moogle and Luditte still, the rest we have met. I think Plako snatched circumnavigation by moving over the landbridge that connects both southern land-ends in the middle of the map, like a ^ . Could that be true?
What kind of information are you willing to share at this time?
Kind regards,
Nakor

No worries on not mentioning things about the plako war - we understand the need to keep the neighbors happy! Were you around for the actual war (i.e. had met them before they started warring?) - or just heard about it afterwards? Even though not having early contacts in a no tech trading game isn't nearly as crippling as it would be if tech trading were on, it's still kind of frustrating that we were so isolated from early events.
Speaking of that - we got yet another "FIADL" event - was it you guys who discovered Hinduism this turn? Or do you know who it was?
We still have not met Luddite, but if you keep moving NW, you should meet SleepingMoogle's warrior Cicero who is moving SW in about 5 turns or so. We have pretty good visibility on the tiles in that region, so if you keep us up to date on which tile your warrior is on, we can pass the information along
If you're around nowish, I should be around off and on for a few hours if you want to chat

Blue dot is the best place for Moai (15 water tiles) but I'm not sure I like it there. Maybe move it 2E1N, or 2E.
You can see my adjusted moves for white and orange. If I do put blue where it is, then probably another city to its east.
