Nice report.
“The wind went mute and the trees in the forest stood still. It was time for the last tale.”
Well now. yuris has seven Horse Archers northwest of Samsun and one inside. I guess we won't need to make any tough decisions for a while.

Now you don't have to feel bad about declaring war on him.
“The wind went mute and the trees in the forest stood still. It was time for the last tale.”
Right then. We talked it over and since we have two catapults within range of the stack we're attacking now. Commodore will probably pile in on his turn but yuris goes before him anyway so he would see the DOW.
So here's the situation. Note the Commodore chariot over in the east. First we have the issue of our chariot in yuris's land. It's on top of a Horse Archer. Gaspar brought up manipulating the teleportation to our advantage, so I moved north and saw this. (These few screenshots will be of lower quality because I used the in-game screenshot function due to Gaspar hurrying me.) Anyhow there's two workers and only one road on the jungle connecting Samsun with the rest of his empire. Well then... Declaring war lands us on the roaded jungle tile and reveals another Horse Archer. I pillage the road and kill the workers. Onto the battle of Caldeum-Samsun. We have in the area: 3 C1 Axemen 3 Spearmen (one with an unused promotion) 2 B1 Catapults He has 7 Horse Archers. Some number of them have unused promotions. B1 Cat vs HA, 39%: LOSES and damages HA to 3.8 B1 Cat vs 5.4 HA, 59.4%: RETREATS and damages HA to 1.5 Promotion-Capable Spear vs 4.8 HA, 96.2%: WINS at 2.7 Spear vs 4.8 HA, 96.2%: WINS flawlessly Spear vs 4.8 HA, 96.2%: WINS at 2.7 C1 Axeman vs 4.8 HA, 80.8%: WINS at 3.1 C1 Axeman vs 4.8 HA, 80.8%: WINS at 2.2 We're leaving the last axeman in the city to prevent unhappiness for the turn. He has one 3.8 HA and one 1.5 HA left, with at least one promotion. The spearman is promoted to C2 and heals up to 3.7. I offered peace after this. We can't take anything besides Samsun right now.

NobleHelium: we're about to be attacked by YURIS

“The wind went mute and the trees in the forest stood still. It was time for the last tale.”
me: i suppose it's possible
clearly i should ask him in chat now Lewwyn: I mean why would he sit the HAs on the NW corner me: because he played the turn in 7 minutes and didn't think about it yes, it doesn't make sense if he were attacking us but that doesn't mean it wasn't a genuine mistake Lewwyn: ;\ I dunno man its not like he could reach your city hilll+forest me: i know it doesn't make sense either way Lewwyn: lol I can't believe I'm the one to say this but, I don't think you should have attacked him me: well i'm not saying he was definitely attacking us but i don't think we were going tot ake that risk Lewwyn: why not? me: if he had sent the stack 2NE he was going to take out khasim outpost me: Lewwyn asks whether there was any chance yuris was trying to attack commodore by moving through our territory I suppose it's possible Gaspar: That's retarded me: lol Gaspar: What's 7 HA going to do to the guy with Longbows & Maces anyway me: If we had considered this possibility before attacking, would you have wanted to wait Gaspar: no me: Well he doesn't necessarily know what commodore has Gaspar: Can't take that chance - he could have lucked into razing KO If he wanted ROP he needed to communicate in someway You put a big stack on my border - kill it, ask questions later me: If he wanted rop he should have kept the units hidden until they moved into our territory, or moved them in multiple parts Gaspar: yes Even as bad as Yuri is he has to know there's only one way to take that me: Lewwyn seems distraught that we may have killed an innocent man Gaspar: lol

Also note that at least one Horse Archer was in the "defending" position. That leads me to believe that he was stacking them up. If he was just passing through then he doesn't really have any reason not to move one or more of them into our lands this turn.
Well unless he grouped them up and didn't pay attention I suppose. Whatever, it's beyond our ability to determine at this stage.
