Given this ranking, I think I will never play another game of Civ again. Nowhere to go but down
Now I just need to figure out how to change my forum signature to "The 9th best Civ player of all time"....

You're way overrating me. No way I'm on same level with Seven or Krill.

I would move Azza up a tier. There's a definite progression of improvement in his games, from pb5 to pb8 to pb13.
I feel like I'm in the same situation as Serdoa. (Serdoa has a higher ceiling though.) There are games where I play really well: pbem26, pbem45, pb7, everything after t100 in pb8 - and then there are just absolute stinkers I put out there: pbem36, pb15. For me a lot of it is a combination of motivation for the game, and having real-life time available to do the planning work needed for a high level game. (Btw, despite all my bitching while it was going on, Noble is an excellent teammate to have for helping keep focus. All those days I wanted to just play the turn and move on, he made sure I had everything covered.)

Debated whether or not to post this but this is a Gaspar and Noble thread afterall...

I actually agree with this. But Noble is much more likely than you to put in a consistent performance, which is a factor.
You realize that my only "inconsistant" performance was PBEM 14 which was my very first full PBEM? Noble is no where near T3 by this ranking.
I like our ranking better than noble's twisted views. He doesn't consider all factors and instead focuses on a players micro ability. The very reason he's not T3 is the reason he's not qualified to make this list.

Wholeheartedly agree with Lewwyn! (Just because he said I'm a 4).

You know Lewwyn, Gaspar isn't T3 either so I'm not sure why you're even discussing with someone clearly not qualified to compile the list.

Gaspar and I have played more games against more people then you would ever dare to.

Gaspar has played against people who are either retired or the same people I've played against.
Edit: Okay not technically true, I haven't had an opportunity to play against Serdoa.

Pocketbeetle in FFHPBEM1 remains the most entertaining thread I've read here.
I agree with both of you that Spulla's PB2 thread and Pocketbeetle's FFH1 threads are the Gold Standard in reporting, I've read both of them more than once.
Mardoc's PBEM 52 thread should be up there with Spulla's/PB's threads as well I think.
Not sure my FFHIII thread deserves to be on the list though. I re-read it awhile back and I was actually surprised by how little I explained about what I was doing with all the religion and civic swaps and overall development in the midgame.
Nyktorion's and Mardoc's threads are far better in terms of actual reporting.
And you missed Mardoc's FFH XXVIII thread. It's a highly entertaining read in spite of his idiot ded lurker.

Pretty certain I don't belong at t1 for FFH.
Though I'll take the T4 ranking for BTS and the observation that I suck when I'm not focused.
