So Noble already described most of the turn. After he played we decided to use the last axe in Caldeum and eat the unhappy citizen to kill one more HA:
That leaves this situation around Caldeum:
Yuri pretty much can't do anything there now. Commodore could feel frisky because he'll be able to see that there's only one Axeman in Caldeum but likely he'll just be pleased to see us fighting someone else and relax. If they double team us it could get ugly, but so it goes...
...and really, on that note, do any of these guys pay attention? The hub-bub in the tech thread about AI diplo obviously tells us Dave was spelling a message out for Commodore, likely anti-us. Yuri runs a troop of HAs that failed against Ichabod up towards us. I want to post this is in the banter thread:
Quote:Dear Yuri and Dave:
Since we've abandoned all pretense of this not being a diplo thread, let me see if I can help you guys with something.
These guys:
are winning.
This guy:
is just doing ok.
Please adjust your idiotic AI diplo plans and/or misguided HA attacks accordingly.
Regards,
Gaspar
Its really frustrating that somehow we keep getting everyone's enmity when Commodore and Ichabod are just riding superior traits/UU/UB to victory. (Yes, Ichabod is playing well and Commodore is playing solidly, but we're playing well too.) And if Dave or Yuri had any pretense of winning the game, they'd be behaving antagonistically towards them, not us. But what-the-fuck-ever, we'll keep plugging on being treated like we're nospace in PBEM13.
Speaking of which, Ichabod fired his 2-man GA this turn and built Shwedagon Paya. Screw him.
In other news, no news really. We started University of Sankore in Old Ruins to be completed right around when we fire our first GA. We teched Archery this turn for flexibility and with overflow and wealth builds can have Feudalism next turn if we determine we need it, Metal Casting towards Machinery otherwise. Since Yuri signed his eventual death warrant with that HA stack, here's a fun exercise for the lurkers:
Which cities would you keep, which would you raze, and where would you replant?
Noble and I will give our thoughts after a few have chipped in.
Here's the demos, note that Yuri had significantly more power than us when the turn started and we're now in 3rd, slightly behind Commodore and way behind Ichabod.
And for Thoth, a youtube link that sums up my feelings about the game:
Nobody's really cool, honestly.
