Do we have enough foreign trade routes to fill everything now that we built TGL?
If we close with CivPlayers, will we still have enough?
How much commerce are we currently receiving from trade routes?

The trade routes are insignificant...

According to Sulla's posting a while back we are not currently utilizing the trade routes from two teams meaning that the commercial impact should be close to none. I don't guarantee that I remember this correctly though.

The chariot presumably hasn't moved because it is healing. Anyone else support my call to change Focal Point from Wealth to a spearman?

FYI there's about six hours left on the timer. If we still do not hear back from CivPlayers, I will cancel the Open Borders at the end of this turn.
We have plenty of trade routes to fill out all cities with or without CivPlayers.
I really don't think we need to panic and swap Focal Point to a spear. CivPlayers cannot see inside French Riviera to know that it's empty, and by the time we could even get a spear built and down to that city, it would already be much too late to stop their chariot from doing whatever it plans to do. Remember, we have an active NAP and are rated #1 in military strength. There's no need to get so worried by a half strength chariot.

Sure, I didn't mean a panic-build to defend against the chariot for immediate defence. But eventually all of those cities will need military police and it makes sense to build them before we get machinery / feudalism so they are cheap. And assuming that chariot will be around the area for a while yet a spear seems the best option out of spear / archer / axe. And we'd like some units to scout south of seven tribes.

I think it's a good idea to build some more cheap war chariots.
If you know what I mean.

I agree with both of these comments, and further agree on cancelling OB with CP prior to EoT.

We were down to the last few hours of the timer, and so I had to take action with CivPlayers:
Canceled Open Borders and left them a message on the diplo window. It's up to you guys as to whether we should send a more formal diplo email as well. We didn't have much of a choice as I see it; we have to keep the Apostolic Palace religion out of our territory for as long as possible, if not forever.
We lost 2 beakers from CivPlayers having two cities worth 3 commerce each in trade routes. Fairly minor. Every city still connects to a foreign city with both of its trade routes.
I moved up the workers and settler. The workers roaded the tile that the CivPlayers chariot is standing on. The settler is underneath our war chariot, although it displays the opposite in this picture. Axeman moved up hoping to induce a suicide attack from the barb unit. Between the war chariot and the axe, the barb should be dead meat next turn.
Plan next turn is to move the workers southeast and road that grassland tile while the settler moves SE-S-S onto the city founding tile. I hope to cover the workers with the war chariot and the settler with the axe, or vice versa.
Overview shot:
Changed the catapult in Horse Feathers to a war chariot as requested, everything else stayed the same. We can re-evaluate the Wealth builds next turn, I just want to make sure that Liberalism is secure before changing anything. Education/Liberalism/Nationalism trifecta, here we come.
