Okay that's a little hard to quantify, and I think that some of my lead comes from my researching "dumb" techs like Divine Right. So let's do a player by player list of who's got what

That's 8 more East Indiamen on the south side of things. Also Hattin has a musket in it so I can't take that anyways.

I wonder how many units are on those? His power hasn't been climbing that much and he's got at least 15 EIs that I've seen. Seems like a power check is in order tonight.

I don't think the city's really in danger unless those are all fully loaded. I've got a musket in Nowitzkiville already, 2 more on that galleon that i could offload, draft another one and could upgrade a warrior if I felt like it.

So with his defenses up, and my "Krill" letter rendered moot, I sent him a quick note asking for an explanation on his 8 East Indiamen, which led to the following chat

So oledavy got a hold of darrell and must have convinced some sort of mojo on him, and so:

a) oledavy is not renewing his NAP with me

b) darrell initiated his cooldown with me. We're rules-lawyering the exact turn hostilities can commence (it's defined as a 10 turn cooldown)

I would expect Shoot the Moon to also join in

Some chats with darrell where we haggled on what a 10 turn cancellation really turn. I suggested that he canceled after he played his T123, meaning that the 10 turns were T124-133, and he could attack on T134. He read between the lines and asked if I was suggesting that because I have NOT played T123, that my 10 turns were T123-132 and I could attack on T133.

(Which I was)

And I do think that is right but I didn't feel like arguing with him about it, so we agreed to both attack on t134

Finally playing the save and the first check is whether I can get Rifling and Physics, both in 1t.

Actually the first thing to check was darrell's chat lies

Sadly (for him, or for me from an avoid the dogpile perspective), he speaks true.

Now, I could say that I am researching Rifling, which is known by 3 other civs, so that gives me a bonus there and I do have a lot of Culture and Espionage, but yeah.

I guess it's hard to "brag" about Parkinizing the last 22 techs (though only in-thread) while talking out the other side of my mouth about how I'm not THAT far ahead lol

Okay but the SECOND thing to do, yes the SECOND thing to do is check if I can get Rifling and Physics, both in 1 turn.

I currently have about 70% of Rifling from overflow, or 1610 beakers. I do have enough money to run 100% science for the 2 turns, should I choose to, which nets 1503 bpt.

So this turn (T123) that's 1503 bpt * 1.45 for pre-req and 3 known civs, or 2179 beakers plus the 1610 I already have minus the 2299 from the cost of Rifling, gives me 1490 rollover [strike]minutes[/strike] beakers.

Divide those back by 1.45, gives 1027, plus another 1503 from next turn, equaling 2530 * 1.275 for pre-req and 1 known civ, gives 3225 beakers towards Physics.

Looking up Physics, we see that it costs 3832 beakers. So I'd need to come up with 600 beakers, or about 470 raw beakers, meaning turning my 1503bpt at max science to 1738. Seems dicey

As I stream of conscious threadspam, if oledavy declares war / closes borders, that will definitely mean no Physics next turn. I'm getting close to being able to do it (building research seems like better than building random jails / infra, and no sense building muskets when I'll have Rifling EOT).

But I wonder if it's better to just take Physics in 2t, and save money for upgrades and such.
