NE of the stone is definitely a better city for the purpose of claiming the stone, but next to the crab is a much better blocking city and easier to defend. If we want to go for Henge we definitely need to plant next to the stone though.
And yeah I think we want to work 2 clams with McD.

Blocking him from settling what exactly? A foodless strip of land?

Blocking was probably a bad word. What I mean is that the northern stone city feels a lot more exposed and stretched without the southern city to support it. Look at what the borders would look like.

Oh I agree it's a bit out there (though so was the stone/clams spot), I"m just assuming our 5th city would be placed in such a way as to "bridge" the gap a bit. I'll look at some dotmap-type stuff in a bit to see how we'd settle around it if we went for it.

Tile assignments look good. I like how the map we uncovered showed every tile up north except the three resources (crab, stone, sheep). Epic fail by the natives on their scouting skills.

Turn rolled, logged in. Scout spent a turn seeing if there's any seafood up by the sheep:
Nope. I do see land continued up there though - sure looks like there's non-trivial amounts of land to our north. Good news. I'm liking my odds of eventually getting to say "I told you so!" after seeing the salt lake . So anyways, here's where we are at the start of the turn:
However, two problems. One:
We are going to be unhappy in LJS at sz4. Simple solution: Move the warrior from McDonalds to LJS starting this turn. That should get him in there just in time - LJS will be unhappy starting on T50 and by moving on T48-49-50, he'll be in there. However, more bad news:
Buddhism fell. We need a plan B here tech-wise. Any thoughts? Also, I did not actually move the warrior, just hovered to show my suggested course of action. It could get a little dicey there if Commodore showed up to be annoying, but we could always hammer it out or whip it, so we'd easily be safe.
We also need to figure out how to pop McDs borders quickly. Monument may have to do, as we could really use that gold. That still means getting gold hooked is probably close to 20T away. Kinda sucks.

Tech options:
Writing: This would unlock map trading (Krillmod, no OB til Alpha). This depends somewhat on if we even want to trade maps with Commodore - not sure. Could be a way to encourage peace.
Masonry: To grab the stone
Animal Husbandry: Figure out where the horses are.
I'm kind of leaning towards Writing-Masonry as our next two, not too bothered on which order we tech them in. Thoughts?

Never heard from either of you so I moved the warrior and selected Writing.

Damn Buddhism. >.> Should have gone for religion instead of Wheel/Pottery I guess. We'll need a monument. I don't think we need Masonry yet...

One pop whip the monument? I say let's get AH. There's no reason to trade maps right now.
