I, too, am glad to be sitting out. I knew Candyland, but had never heard of Jadzia. Google says pokies are Australian video slot machines. I thought it was a jail, but that's pokey.

Probably meant for CASINO, PLAY, KIWI (doubly refered to by the fact it's an Aussie/Kiwi word, and as a fruit for the "fruit machine").
Which would make it a good clue... providing you could be fairly certain your team knew the word. Which doesn't seem to be the case here (I didn't either).
Lol @ the Codenames 38 Blue Team having Deceased for their final word, and doing everything in their power to not guess Washington. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory!
I was convinced DATE was a word for Grounded. That's the first thing I think of when you say someone is grounded, no going on dates.
Civilization IV: 21 (Bismarck of Mali), 29 (Mao Zedong of Babylon), 38 (Isabella of China), 45 (Victoria of Sumeria), PB12 (Darius of Sumeria), 56 (Hammurabi of Sumeria), PB16 (Bismarck of Mali), 78 (Augustus of Byzantium), PB56 (Willem of China)
Hearthstone: ArenaDrafts Profile No longer playing Hearthstone.
Unless I've missed it, I don't think Blue team has mentioned DRAFT (animal) in connection with FARMER?
There is somewhat famously a village named Batman in Turkey. No idea if thrawn knows that or if that clue was coincidence, though he seems like the sort of person well-read in tangential pop culture references who would.
I have never heard of Gotham being Chicago. It is well known that Gotham is the nighttime representation of New York - Metropolis is the daytime version.

I guess the red team is lucky no one knew this reference, since Turkey was the assassin. (October 14th, 2020, 19:44)NobleHelium Wrote: I have never heard of Gotham being Chicago. But the clue worked, which is the final criterion. (October 14th, 2020, 19:44)NobleHelium Wrote: I have never heard of Gotham being Chicago. The Chicago thing is all Nolanverse due to filming locations. |
