I still haven't really started playing because I'm going to have to spend at least a couple hours editing the config file for the keys, jumping into the game to see if any changes broke the main menu, making more changes, and repeating until I can play the game with the arrow keys and not have to use "F" as the default confirmation key, and I just don't feel like it when there's other games to play which are both fun and not designed by fucking morons.

Ouch on the game getting pulled. I had not really even looked at this game -- I already have so many other games I want to play, and with the performance requirements would need some upgrading first anyway. But I know a lot of people had really been looking forward to it, and the hype was intense. Talk about stumbling badly at launch....

Yeah mostly this is on PS4. PS5 players can actually play. Of course PC masterrace...

I built my current pc back in April, designed on top specs for the game. Still has a few glitches here and there, but it's gorgeous overall.

Jowy, do you think with the benefit of hindsight the game should have launched only on next-gen + PC? GTA V did the launch-last-gen-add-next-gen-later thing to seemingly great success, but maybe this go around that was too ambitious...?

The parts inside a PS4 Pro barely meet the minimum requirements to play Cyberpunk on a PC with equivalent parts. The regular PS4 has no chance. A lot of work would have needed to be put to downgrading the game to make it playable on last gen consoles if it is even possible. Not sure how many sacrifices you can make until you meet the same angry response as with this release. Problem with a next gen only launch from a capitalist pov is that most console gamers don't have the brand new console gen yet. I think this is probably a case of executives pushing for a release on past gen when it's not really viable.

The problem is that Cyberpunk was originally planned to launch before next-gen, and you can't release a game only for the enhanced consoles. The PC version seems fine, but way too many commitments to consoles were made.
