Quite a few people here have stuck it out through tough losses, and improved significantly as a result. Obviously you can feel free to do as you please, but there's much to be gained from persistence. smile

Yes. It's as if something in my mind didn't care about getting better this time (ie. Civ4). Can't explain it. And I can't stand the razing of a city either. This has been a constant since Civ1. Don't know what to do, because I keep on repeating the same pattern game after game. PBEMs are a gateaway from the AI somehow (all the more when there is no AI [Image: wink.gif] ), but I suck at war against a human. And SGs have always bored me, but maybe I should try one or two to get some basic concepts...

I abandoned my first attempts, mainly due to time. Figured I would buckle down and try this one to the end.
Now, what is the best way to write/post the results? huh I haven't done this part before.

Hmm, I've been getting better by abandoning games. More specifically, by abandoning a lot of games. "Is this idea right for this start? (50 turns pass) Nope. Roll another one!"

Then again, this may say more about where I've started than what progress I'm making.

I plan to play this one, but I doubt anyone else was as close to being eligible for scoring as I was. I have won exactly ONE emperor game, Caesar pretorian rushing Asoka on a dual-map, I game I made because I felt like winning on emperor about 6 weeks ago. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

At least since I'm playing a shadow game I can keep Blue Marble running. I have no idea why that isn't allowed yet, except to force me to look at more cartoonish textures.

I've decided to abandon this game in favor of Epic Nine, and I won't be playing any other Adventures. I've found out that I dislike normal speed too much to play this one out. It just doesn't give me the feeling that I'm playing through 6000 years of history......

I understand this comment well. I started fooling with Adv15 last weekend, but when Epic9 showed up I dropped it. Epic9 was a lot more appealing.
